18.01.2022 Happy mothers day to all the beautiful mothers and fathers that are finding it hard this mothers day, homeless not being able to see your children the pain and the hurt especially today.. just know I was once homeless and in despair at times not knowing if I would get my children back.. cold and alone.. but just know this that no matter where you are how rich or how poor. The only person that I hung on to was my lord my savour. Believe it or not He went through it all Be encouraged its only a season.. joy comes in the morning..much love and blessing
15.01.2022 Just want to take you on a journey of what we do at On The Edge..we have a lot of successful stories over the 25yrs of helping people that were Homeless... This is just one.. We first met him out on Street Edge, which patrols the streets late at night, while most of you are sleeping. This is Algie, he was homeless in Logan and an alcoholic. He lived at the back of the shopping centre in cardboard boxes. He didn't talk much, however he was very grateful that we were there, lat...e at night, on the streets to help meet his needs. We initially found him at the shops riding his push bike, in the rain on his way home, well to what, he called home at the time, which was the shops. We stayed most of the night chatting with him, hearing his story and why he was homeless. Algie, at the time, had warrants out for his arrest among other things. We kept going to his home late at night until he got familiar with us and we established trust. He soon realised that he could trust us and we were there, not for our own gain, but to truly help. He sang songs from his heart, he laughed with us, we prayed with him and we built a friendship. Next, he wanted to give himself over to the police and sort out his life. He was put in jail and served his time, during which time, we kept in contact and wrote and visited him to keep him encouraged. On his release we were there to pick him up and found a place for him to stay, sorted out all his identification and assisted him through the process of leading a normal functioning life. Thereafter he came out on Street edge and helped us search for others like himself. He enjoyed helping others. He is an amazing artist, we encouraged him to follow his passion and start painting his indigenous artwork. Algie then started to seek work and earnt enough money to buy a camper van. He loves traveling, so off he went to enjoy life and catch up with his family around Australia. He pops in when he's in town, in the photo below he is proudly showing us his new creative idea, which he sells as he goes from place to place. He finds sticks in the bush and turns them into a work of art. As you can see the before and after photo. This is why we do what we do, if we were not out there, at night, building friendships he may have not received the help he needed. As you can see from this one journey it is providing constant help, building trust and being there with people until they're ready to fly in this world on their own. I just want to thank God for helping us help him.. If you would like to join our team and this is something you would like to be apart of we are always in need of volunteers please contact us and help us help people.

11.01.2022 SISTERHOODEMPOWERMENT BEENLEIGHCAFEEDGE Welcome to the sisters Tara-louise Snooks Moira and Nina Awesome to see you as well sista Paula Poutu... Our topic tonight Dysfunctions in our house one of them being... JEALOUSY Do you get upset when you don't get an invite? Do you feel rejected and hurt afterwards ? Do you hurt because people have moved on without you? Do you gossip about them who have caused it? Then you feel angry and hatred towards them and become bitter; Sound familiar ? These can be tail tell signs that the spirit of jealousy is hanging around. If left unchecked it can cause alot of hurt and pain towards yourself and others within your space. We in SisterHood Empowerment have the solution to help you overcome jealousy . Come as you are but don't stay as you are. Change starts with you, me and then others. #EquipMe #EquipYou #EquipOthers
