25.01.2022 WEDDING TIP #3 Budgets are always a huge part of any wedding, and sometimes, they can quickly spiral out of control & cause a few sleepless nights for a couple in the planning process. However, a clever way to reduce costs is to hold your wedding on non-traditional days, such as a Friday, Sunday or even mid-week. ... Many large-scale function venues, due to demand, are dearer to hire on that traditional event day, Saturday. So of course, you’ll pay a premium. But what about the next day? Or the one after that? Well, in most cases, these rooms can sit idle, costing operator’s money and of course, any business owner will prefer a booking at a reduced rate over no booking at all. So, go ahead and ask your venue what their off-peak hire price is, you may get a shock at the saving! & if you’re still not convinced, consider your guests, who will love you for thinking outside the square. Friday wedding, no problem they get a day / afternoon off work, Saturday to recover (a post wedding brunch is a great idea, but more on that later) and then Sunday to do any errands they need to do before the working week begins again. 18.01.2022 If you are planning to DIY a lot of your styling elements make sure you hand over all the set up on the day to someone you trust. This is one of the biggest days of your life and you don’t want you or your close family to be stressed. Tips when handing over the set up: Give clear floor plans and written instructions on how everything is to be placed.... Set it up at home on the dinner table and take images at multiple angles so your vision can be exactly replicated. Provide to your set up person a numbered checklist of all items and triple check it. If you are providing candles ensure you test burning time at home near an airconditioner or open window to ensure they will last the whole reception. Ensure all place cards are in order per table and have a corresponding guest list to reference. If you are using nick names or names in another language on your place cards ensure this matches your guest list provided to the person setting up. Try to set up at the venue prior to your big day first if you can to make sure everything works as well in real life as it does in your mind. Drop off all the items prior to the day.
