21.01.2022 As ethical Arborists we won't say yes to every tree we're asked to cut down. To us, every tree saved is a job well done. Too often we hear of Arborist companies that misinform clients for the sake of a job. If a tree can be saved we will and take pride in working with our clients through the available options.

21.01.2022 That's a lot of water!!!!! The amount of water a tree consumes and needs does depend on many factors such as their species, the environment around them, the climate etc. If you're unsure as to whether your tree needs water, a simple way to test is as follows: Dig a few inches into the soil, up to 3-10 inches, around the tree and feel how much moisture there is. If the soil is dry, your tree needs water. If the soil is moist, perhaps give it a few more days. This of course does not apply to newly planted trees and seedlings which require much more water until established.

20.01.2022 This looks ominous! In strong winds, leaves and branches get stripped and even entire trees can be torn down. Did you know , that the healthier the trees root system is, the better it's chances are of survival? But those trees that don't fare so well are considered to be compromised, or stressed. They pose a risk of dropping branches to anyone or anything below. A certified Arborist will be able to assess the tree, prune and remove where necessary. This is particularly important in storm season because the more storms we get, the more stress to the tree's and the more likely they are to drop branches or even fall.

06.01.2022 Why do Eucalyptus tree's weep sap? This often indicates that the tree is under the attack of an insect called the Eucalyptus Borer. Similar to humans in a way, it is often already stressed trees that are most susceptible to the Borers attack. The sap is in fact the tree trying to flush the insects infestation out. This can be a difficult problem to fix, but there are ways we can work to help the tree depending on the severity of infestation, the environment, current weather etc.

02.01.2022 A basic Arborist crew will be made up of at least one Cert V Arborist, at least one rescue climber, and two additional ground staff, of which all should be suitably qualified and competent in all activities involved in daily tree works operations. A rescue climber is of upmost importance in a tree climbing crew and needs to have specific training in order to competently attend to emergency situations at such heights. Arborists don't want to have to use this particular skill, but they must practice is so regularly that it becomes a fine art and second nature. In the event of an emergency they need to be able to react quickly and without panic so it is important that it is a fresh skill, always.
