24.01.2022 Wonderful to have so many students join us this week for our (virtual) 'Mid-Season Workshop' featuring the late, great Bill Withers. Our teacher band streamed live into the homes of the Evergreen families while our students played along.

24.01.2022 Its been very sad having our Evergreen loungeroom so empty this week with NO students physically present, but a huge thankyou to everyone who hosted us in theirs! By the end of this week, we will have taught over 370 students (young and old) online. Our whole team have adapted so quickly to the online teaching platform, and we are continuing to deliver an extremely positive and effective musical learning experience in every lesson. As is the story for most individuals, famil...ies and businesses, the last couple of weeks have been, in a word AAAAAAAAH! but like everyone, we are pushing through Our Brookvale studios may be in lockdown - But Evergreen is very much open for business! 22.01.2022 The Evergreen trumpeters got together today for a 'Last Post' workshop. We talked about how, when and why we play it. With most ANZAC Day services sadly cancelled this year, some of these 'musicians for life' will be playing the piece (from their driveway) on Saturday morning, to help their immediate local community commemorate the day.

A full day of free music under the Bridge at Bradfield park, looking out at beautiful Sydney Harbour. 17.01.2022 Stoked to be helping keep this wonderful Northern Beaches Council initiative going through COVID times. The 'Evergreen Collective' will be livestreaming party tunes into the homes of some local kids who can't get out and dance like usual! Check out the KALOF facebook page for more details.

16.01.2022 For more than a decade we've been the house band for a wonderful event for people living with disabilities called 'Dance To The Nines'. For obvious reasons we couldn't have our usual HEAVING dance floor at Chatswood community centre... so instead we streamed LIVE from Evergreen into the loungerooms of the punters via a Zoom call. We're always up for a themed night... you won't have to try hard to guess what it was! We certainly look forward to returning to the regular format... as soon as possible, but for now..this was great fun! Thanks to Lea-Ann who co-ordinates the night, and Willoughby City Council and Rotary Club of Chatswood who are so committed to making sure this event happens for this amazing community of people. 02.01.2022 Each season at Evergreen we do a week long workshop based around a feature artist and song. Our amazing teaching team collaborate to educate our WHOLE music community (young and old, beginner and advanced) on how to play the tune. This week we explored the music of legendary New Orleans musician, "Dr John" and his version of the classic tune 'iko iko'. Here's a little snippet of how our team approached it from a teaching perspective, watch to the end to see them do their thang.
