These pots have a drainage hole and plastic plug. When it’s time to water, simply take your pot to the nearest sink, remove the plug from the bottom and water your green friend. 13.01.2022 Oh how we love a trailing evergreen, like this Scindapsus pictus (common name satin pothos or silver pothos or silver vine love a plant with more than one common name lol) Satin pothos is like a Devils Ivy but WAY more fancier and a tad more exy, but totally worth it #trustme Side note; did you know that in botany an evergreen is a plant that remains green and functional through more than one growing season (unlike deciduous plants which lose their foliage in the cooler months, such as a frangipani tree).

Plant your plant in as you would into any pot using a premium potting mix. 2. Water from above the first time to help the potting mix settle in. Excess water gathers in the waterwell at the bottom. The plant begins to wick up the water it needs from the waterwell via the potting mix. 3. Once the waterwell at the bottom dries out it's time to begin topping up the water via the waterwell at the bottom. Topping up via the waterwell helps the plant get a good airing out between watering. Don't be afraid to let the waterwell remain dry for a while as well - especially in cold and wet and dark areas when plants don't need as much water and the potting mix remains wetter longer. In hot and dry and sunny areas you may find the waterwell needing topping up more often as the plant is more thirsty. 07.01.2022 Seeded Sunflowers is a project created by Holly Ogden Art Her aim is to paint as many sunflowers in public view as she can. Each sunflower painted is accessible to the public, for the community to visit at their leisure, or for passersby alike. Holly creates sunflower murals completely FREE of charge in a bid to involve as many businesses and community members as possible. ... So why sunflowers?" The answer is simple. They spread joy! They're very metaphorical in that they always follow the sun and can guide in times of uncertainty. Holly began painting sunflowers at the outbreak of COVID. In a bid to shine a light when people were in isolation and going through tough times. This allowed people to go on sunflower hunts which involved the community. The side of our building is now adorned with 4 sunflowers, including this beauty which went up yesterday. Want to see more? 02.01.2022 The change in season means it’s time to review the positioning of our plants. The summer sun here in Perth is much harsher than the winter sun (groundbreaking info hey ). In summer our days are longer because more hours are spent facing the sun. And the days are hotter because we’re facing the sun front on ... Whilst this spot in the studio (by the front door) might look lovely and bright in the morning, by 2-3pm there is now direct sunbeams of light streaming in for a good few hours. It looks lovely but means we now need to consider which plants can tolerate more hours of direct afternoon sun and shuffle them around to suit. What does this mean for our plants? the soil will start drying out quicker perhaps we need to start watering a bit more regularly plants are moving out of dormancy and growing - time to start fertilising them have a look at the location of your plants in the afternoon. Indoor plants generally prefer filtered light, not direct sun. We can guide you through what’s needed.
