18.01.2022 Time and time again customers come to us asking if we are able to submit a quote for their Shop Fitout. We ask if they have plans they say "yes we had an architect draw our plans" and they slap one piece of paper on the table as so........ Are you meaning to tell me that a "professional architect" drew these plans with all the relevant information that a competent builder needs on 1 page?? No...... This was drawn by a cowboy claiming to know what they are doing. Where are the... service plans? Where are the details of the desired theme / look? What are the chosen finishes? Where are the elevations? Joinery details? Paying for a proper design drawn by a "real" architect in the long run will save you alot more money. Having all the relevant information based on your project allows all tradies to quote firm and precise. Not having the adequate information such as the disastrous plan shown the trades may price for things that are not needed causing a higher over all price at the end. Dont be fooled by these companies that deliver other services claiming to be "shop fitters & designers" 95% of the time They are paying competent builders & designers like us to do the work and charging you a 20% markup fee. Only use professionals when dealing with building and design if the person selling you the service doesnt know how its build how do you expect him to build it........

07.01.2022 *TEASER* Coming very close to the end of the project and we thought we would share a little teaser. All the heated and refrigerated counters are custom made. ... Cool room, freezer room, air condidtioning, ventilation, gas, water, sliding door shopfront all added to the shop. Premises was empty when we gained access to the site only the walls that divided the shops existed. Stay tuned the finished product pictures.

05.01.2022 Story: 5 months ago we were approached to submit a quote for a customer for their upcoming new shop. We submitted our lump sum quote with every item that was labelled on the plans included as a full turn key package. The customer called us 6 weeks later and explained that they decided to go with another shopfitter purely based on price as he was $5000 cheaper and had already signed. ... Today, 5 months later I received a call from the same customer explaining that he needed help to finish his caf as his builder refused to come back unless $40K of variations were paid. The customer explained that he didnt know why there were variations as he did not know about nor approve them to be variations and thought he was getting a complete lump sum build cost......... With the shop being at 90% complete. Now paying rent even though he is closed. He has no option to pay the $40k variations. For what would of been for us a 4-5 week project it has now turned into a 5 month project, now $40-60k more expensive from his $5000 saving by choosing someone else and a complete disaster. The moral of the story: Yes we agree saving money is important although you have to compare apples for apples. Customers sometimes do not look at the exclusions and this can catch you out big time! Cheaper is not always better! This is not the first time we have encountered this and seems to be getting more common. We show our costs and have nothing to hide. Our work speaks for itself we have proven we delivery quality! We do things once and do it right the first time!
