It has been a freezing cold day up here, but we have checked the cherries and there are still some decent ones. The earlier heat has affected some, and there are a lot up high - so not going to be easy picking, but still quite a lot left. This will definitely be the final day of this season to pick your own! We are likely to open again soon, but waiting on another of our varieties Sweetheart to ripen. 16.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who visited today, with your support we are able to donate $3,795 to those directly affected by the South Australian bushfires. We are donating to Vinnies SA - 100% of this donation will be directed to SA locals affected and will help them to renew, rebuild and restore. The hills community is something we truly value, and we have been devastated by the impact the fires have had locally and around the state - which is why we felt it was important to sho...w our support to those affected. And a big thank you to the Plummer family (Plummers Border Valley Orchards www.cherry-picking.com.au) for their continued help and support in our orchard! This finishes up our 2019/20 cherry season, we look forward to seeing you again next season in December

12.01.2022 Change of plans and we will be CLOSED on Friday 20th December due to the preliminary Catastrophic Fire day. Beating the heat and picking in the morning is ok, but we don’t want to increase risk of our customers, hills locals and the CFS by having people travel up here. Stay cool and safe. We will still open Thursday 19th (tomorrow), 9am-12pm, and will be opening on the weekend as well when the cooler weather is here!

10.01.2022 This is the location of our orchard. An hour ago we were in the emergency zone, now slightly out of it. At present we don’t know what will happen with the fire, but we will not be opening tomorrow unless the danger is gone - in particular we don’t want to add more people driving up here if not necessary when the CFS are busy fighting fires. 04.01.2022 It’s going to be pretty hot over the next few days, but you can still come and get your cherry fix in the morning! We are opening this week 9am-12pm (Tues-Fri). The orchard will close at 12, so please arrive by 11am to ensure you have time to pick! ... 04.01.2022 We will be open Sunday 22nd and Monday 23rd - 9:30am-4:30pm Although we have been unaffected by the fires, we are mindful of the ongoing work - and request that people travel via Norton Summit road or Greenhill Road, avoiding the roads to the north of our orchard where the fire has been. Please travel safely and reduce speeds if passing CFS and support agencies that may be working in the area.
