23.01.2022 From the Equality Campaign: Yesterday, South Australian Senators Rex Patrick and Stirling Griff from the Centre Alliance (formerly Nick Xenophon Team) sided with the Coalition to block a vote on a bill to remove discrimination against LGBTQ students in schools. Parents and children deserve certainty when enrolling for school next year. Students deserve to know that they won't be expelled because of their sexuality or gender identity.... Labor and the Greens are trying to bring on a vote on the bill to remove these unfair and outdated laws this year... but we need the Centre Alliance's support. We need your help to get the Senate to vote this year. We have just under 24 hours to convince the Centre Alliance to vote to bring on the bill, and to vote against unnecessary and complicated amendments which would allow discrimination against children. No kid should have to walk through the school gates next year afraid of being kicked out because of who they are."
