22.01.2022 We hope you’ve all had a nice rest over summer and settling into the New Year’s routines. For all our patients with appointments due over the next few weeks please note that Dr Paul will be taking his annual leave in March this year between the 28th Feb and 24th March. So please hop on line and make those appointments either before he goes or for when he returns particularly if you need early morning or late afternoon as these spots disappear fast. 22.01.2022 We hope you are all well and safe in this difficult time. We have had a wonderful adventure in Antarctica and are now homeward bound. The situation with COVID19 has escalated significantly since we left and this is going to necessitate we do things a little differently at the practice over the next little while. Those of you with appointments over the next 2 weeks have already been notified about necessary changes and we thank you for your patience and cooperation. We will c...ontinue to update you over the next couple of weeks and our staff will be at the practice to address concerns, schedule changes and any other emergencies. Meanwhile here's a couple of images. The gianormous tabular iceberg spotted on our first day as shot by me in the Bransfield strait, whilst the second an early morning image in the infamous Weddell Sea including whale tail taken by Marie. We promise to print a selection for your visual enjoyment on your next visit to us at the practice. In the mean time stay safe and be kind to all... See more

21.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE: We have reduced our Dental Services to Emergencies Only! To our Everton House Dental family, On the most recent advice from the Australian Dental Association regarding COVID-19 as of Thursday the 26th March, we have made the very tough decision to defer all routine check-ups and cleans, and all dental treatment deemed not urgent or an emergency. So from Monday the 6th of Aril we will be only available for restricted hours and services to acute emergencies on...ly; this includes facial swelling, acute pain and dental trauma. This call has been made inorder to reduce community mobilisation and contact and therefore help protect our patients, our staff and our families. If you do have a dental emergency, please call me personally on my mobile 0434 163 755. If you have an appointment in the next coming weeks, we will be getting in touch to reschedule or put you on a priority list for when our restrictions are lifted. At this stage, we are only cancelling appointments in two-week blocks and reviewing the advice from our governing body each day at a time. We will continue to keep you up to date with the latest developments as they come to light. We thank you all once again for your overwhelming support and love during this time. Without you, we wouldn’t have our wonderful practice and we will need your support more than ever when we all emerge on the other side! Stay safe and enjoy this time with your loved ones! Paul, Marie and the Everton House Dental Team

21.01.2022 Happy World Oral Health Day! #WOHD19 We want people to keep their teeth for life and so we're making the most of this year's theme "Say AhhAct on Mouth Health"... by encouraging everyone to brush, floss, eat well, decrease their use of tobacco and alcohol and schedule regular visits to the dentist. See more

18.01.2022 Happy Australia Day holiday. We are closed today. Gone surfing... see you tomorrow!

13.01.2022 We are excited to announce that Dr Paul is now a certified Thumb Sucking Clinic program provider. If your little one's thumb or finger sucking behaviour is starting to affect the way their teeth develop, chances are that their breathing and sleeping behaviour is also compromised. This can lead to significant developmental as well as long term health consequences. We now have BIG solutions for little smiles. We have teamed up with world renown expert Carla Lejarraga of The Thumbsucking Clinic to provide our patients with a myofunctional therapy program especially designed to treat young children with problematic orofacial muscle tone and breathing issues associated with thumbsucking. So please talk to us at your next check up or call us on 3354 3122 to arrange for a consultation with Dr Paul.

09.01.2022 Don’t let those sugary treats at Halloween spoil your pearly whites! Especially important if you’re wearing braces like Jack-o’-lantern... Beat the sugar bugs and do what Jack’s done. 09.01.2022 Mid June is traditionally a time of focus on Men's Health internationally with a campaign that's all about encouraging men to MAKE A DATE with their health providers. Although men are getting much better at accessing health services today there is still a generation that thinks that to be male, you wait until an arm, leg or tooth are close to dropping off before you seek medical care. The best people to improve men's health in Australia are those who live, work and play alongside men and boys in our community. So don't forget to call for a routine dental check up for either yourself or a loved one on 07 3354 3122 or press the Book Now button on our page for a direct link to our appointment book...

07.01.2022 Understanding how much sugar is added to the food you eat is important for your oral + general health. Did you know that current recommendations by the WHO and the American Heart Association are to reduce consumption to less than 6 tsp (24g) of added sugars per day? ...and those sugars add up fast. Much of the sugars consumed today are hidden in processed foods that are not usually seen as sweets. For example, 1 tbs of ketchup contains around 1 tsp of free sugars. A single can of soft drink contains a whopping 16 tsp . So think whole, unprocessed foods and water and keep you and your teeth healthier longer

05.01.2022 You wouldn’t add 16 teaspoons of sugar to your cup of tea, so why drink it in a soft drink? Did you know that current recommendations by the WHO and the American Heart Association are to reduce consumption to less than 6 tsp (24g) of added sugars per day? So do yourself a favour and rethink your sugar consumption. Your oral and general health will be better for it... we promise

05.01.2022 This week’s little miracle. Master 9 inflicted significant damage to 3 of his front teeth with one of them being quite nasty. There was a visit to the hospital on Sunday to check him out and a call to Dr Paul to organise emergency treatment. Grandma luckily managed to find the biggest missing bit of tooth and first thing Monday morning before school, we managed to re-bond the missing piece back in place and fill the other teeth. All that needs doing now is one more visit to polish and finish them off. Both Master 9 and mum are much happier. Moral of the story if your little one breaks front teeth call us ASAP and look for the pieces.

05.01.2022 Dr Paul is currently away from the surgery for a 4 day myofunctional therapy course in Melbourne till Tuesday with these lovely people... what is myofunctional therapy, I hear you ask? It’s all about learning how to retrain muscles of the face and tongue to correct problems caused by conditions such as tongue tie and thumb sucking behaviour. These include developmental problems such as crowded teeth, breathing and sleeping issues which have serious long term health consequences .... stay tuned!

04.01.2022 Just a short note to let you all know that we returned safely last weekend and observing mandated recommendations and self isolating. We are keeping busy ensuring we are across all the guidelines, and implementing important changes to ensure that we continue to deliver the highest standard of care under these difficult circumstances. Dental services are deemed to be essential health services that need to be delivered, as good oral hygiene and health is critically important in... disease prevention. ...and we all now know how important it is to keep the public health burden low. We will update you with more details early next week but we will be open and seeing patients again on Monday 6th April. Please note our staff will continue to be at the practice so please call if you have any queries. In the meantime, here's a bit of light relief regarding personal interactions .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP2xcQKkzZI

03.01.2022 Something to ponder on... Dental health week

02.01.2022 AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION: A couple of commercially available products that may assist you in better protecting your teeth from the comfort of your own home at this time of self isolation. Whilst these don't replace a good check up they may help stabilise and protect your teeth. Particularly useful for our orthodontic patients . A good regime should include at least one but optimally 2 of these products on a daily basis. So a rinse plus a mousse or toothpaste. A note of CAUTION: not all of these products are suitable for preschool children. If you have any questions send us a message... and keep smiling

01.01.2022 How's your Oral Health tracking? It's dental Health Week. Give us a call on 3354 3122 or press that BOOK NOW button above and tick that box off your TO DO list. Taking care of your health is an investment not an expense...
