25.01.2022 Root Canal Therapy usually works. Dont listen to the rubbish posted on the internet. In the x-ray series here you can see a dark circle in the bone around the root of the tooth. This is dark because of infection. At the time of completion in the next x-ray there is still darkness but 2 years later you can see that the bone has healed. Thats right, the bone in the area has actually regrown and filled in the void which was eaten away by a bacterial infection. The tooth is still there and the patient has no more symptoms. This does not mean they all work .... but most do.

25.01.2022 Cracked Tooth; Caused by stress on the tooth which is due to grinding. Typically a person with a cracked tooth will report a sharp pain when they bite in a particular way on something. The pain can be very severe. It is more likely to happen in a tooth which has already been weakened by tooth decay but can happen in any tooth. Treatment involves capping the tooth so that when you bite on the tooth there is no stress opening up the cracks. 25.01.2022 This swelling in the gum is due to an infection coming from the tooth below it. Often these draining abscesses do not cause any pain at all. Left untreated the tooth would be lost and the bone in the area irreparably damaged so that even an implant may not be possible. Regular dental check ups will detect silent problems like this from progressing.

04.01.2022 Tooth decay started here between the central incisor teeth. The darkness indicates the extent of tooth decay. Left unchecked, the bacteria causing this will continue to destroy the teeth. At this stage restoration is simple, by removing the decay and restoring with white fillings. This person had no idea that there was anything wrong, as the decay is only visible form the inside of the teeth. Thankfully a preventative check up picked up the problem.

04.01.2022 Correction of Poor dental Work Done Overseas.

02.01.2022 Root Canal Therapy must be done properly. This case is another case done by an overseas dentist. The tooth was treated with root canal therapy but only one root canal out of two was treated. This meant the person had pain and an infected gum. We removed the crown , re-treated the root canals and then performed endodontic microsurgery to clean up the infection at the end of the roots. The result is that 8 weeks after the root canal therapy is completed the dark area in the bone has shrunk indicating that the bone is refilling and there is no more infection or discomfort. All of this could have been avoided if the simple root canal therapy was done properly in the first place and it would have costed much less.
