19.01.2022 As the sunsets on 2020. I want to say thank you to each and every one of you. Our pilates fam was one of my greatest silver linings of 2020. I am beyond grateful for the community, the connections, the outlet, a place for mums and women of all ages to connect, the coffees and ocean dips after class, the old and the new friendships, a place to look after our body and mind and re-energise. 2020 was a year many of us would like to forget and so many of us are still missing our f...amilies and friends abroad and that hurts (me included). For me I try to remember that time we slowed down, the time I learnt to be vulnerable, where I didn’t have control and I had to roll with it. Like 2020 and every year, 2021 will be what we make of it. I encourage you (like I always do) to look after your health (in a balanced way) and find happiness in the simplest of things, albeit in your own backyard if it has to be but hopefully a little more like life as we once knew it with open borders where you could hug and touch. Happy 2021 !! Clare x See more

16.01.2022 EASTER TIMETABLE UPDATE Tonight is our last Pilates class before Easter and it is fully booked. Thursday 8th April we are back, 7pm. Don’t forget Everybodybyclare TV is available to all and it’s free so you can workout at home during the break. If you don’t have access, please send me a DM. Make sure you comment or post if you do an online session so I know you’ve done it and remember that might inspire someone else to put down their chocolate bunny and move their toosh too (I do endorse enjoying the yummy goods over Easter just try and keep your bodies moving too) !! x

15.01.2022 THORACIC SPINAL MOBILITY We often treat ourselves with a long delicious thoracic stretch over the small Pilates ball at the start of class. But why do we even care about this particular part of our spine? The thoracic spine encompasses our chest and shoulder area meaning it’s directly linked to posture. So by performing this stretch we open the chest, stretch the upper/middle back as well as our shoulders and ensures we don’t get poor posture which can lead to all types of discomfort and injuries. We always devote time to stretching at the beginning and end of our classes as well as concluding with a mindful minute.

14.01.2022 The key relationship b/w MOVEMENT & NUTRITION. Last week I had a chat with Clinical Nutritionist, Amanda Börlin to find out more about the relationship between Movement & Nutrition. Amanda says; Whether your health & fitness goals are weight loss, muscle building, toning up or achieving your athletic peak performance it is important to understand that no amount of exercise will get you there if your diet is neglected. What and when you eat is equally, if not more important t...han exercise itself depending on what your goals are. Research has shown that the timing of nutrient intake may be more important than the total daily intake of nutrients, with the post-workout period, considered to be the most important part of nutrient timing, because of its ability to improve performance as well as body composition. A nutritionist can help you determine what nutrients should be eaten and when, in order to enable you to achieve your health and wellness goals more efficiently. There is no one plan fits all as every body is different and requires different dietary needs. By working with a clinical nutritionist you will be able to create a dietary plan that works specifically for you by taking into consideration your medical history, your physiology and your personal goals. If you’d like some personalised support with Nutrition, I’d highly recommend booking a consult with @amanda_borlin_nutrition she consults out of Salt Bush on Saturday mornings (swipe right to see her sweet little consulting space in Moore St, Austinmer).
