24.01.2022 What? Weight loss with no exercise?? Can this be?? Did you know that high insulin, associated with overweight or obesity, blocks production of a protein called FOXA-2? This protein stimulates people to move. I mean, it literally makes people feel like moving. People who are overweight have low levels of FOXA-2 due to their high insulin and therefore find it really difficult to find motivation or desire to exercise and this can be a major deterrent to begin a weight loss pr...ogram. Keto programs, love 'em or hate 'em, have a huge success rate, as people with low energy and low motivation for exercise are able to shift weight quite rapidly without doing exercise and yet after a while, start to ‘want’ to move. 12.01.2022 Day 1 of Strict Phase 2 on #metabolicbalance. I'm not gonna lie, it was a tough few days to get to this point, but I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful of this meal and could not finish it all. No calorie counting, no restriction of entire food groups, but a meal plan specifically tailored to my personal body type. The exact amount of protein, carbohydrate and fat needed to restore balance in my body based on my blood results and symptom picture. This might seem like alot of food but this will tide me over until dinner which is in 5-6 hours. There will be no snacks as I allow time for my digestion to rest and blood glucose and insulin to drop enabling fat burning to take place. #personalisednutrition #ditchthesnacks

08.01.2022 Part 1 - Immune Support Thought I'd put together this easy to access infographic. Over the last few weeks, like many people, we've been reading alot of research coming out about our immune systems. Its natural to feel anxiety when something is beyond our control so its important to focus on what we do have control over in the now. Strict hygiene and social distancing are obviously something we are already doing, however, something that I'm not seeing talked about much is g...ood self care practices like proper nutrition, exercise, fresh air and sunlight. Our body's immune system is fascinating to learn about and there are a number of nutrients that are crucial to its proper function. I've very briefly outlined the function of each and the foods highest in that nutrient. I will, over the next few weeks, post more in depth information about each one. Keep in mind that this is not all there is to optimising our immune systems as there are many other factors such as anaemia, poor gastrointestinal health, or exposure to environmental toxins like mould, to name a few.
