I had a great time cruising the streets doing some night nav training and there were some good hills too.

06.01.2022 Well what can be said about Rogue Raid 100 that already has not been said. Firstly Liam St Pierre you are evil in a good sort of way. Everyday Life Fitness/Tige...r AR's preparation was really good and we were looking forward to pushing the limits during the race. This came to a screaming holt when 3 weeks out our legend Nikki Giles told me that she had broken a toe and will not be able to race due to having to have surgery on it (she will be sorely missed as she is such an important member of the team). I was onto Trevor Mullens quickly to find a replacement, we weren't going to just take anyone and we were willing to race as a team of 3. We ended up saying yes to Margarete Oti (Margie) to come join our team. Margie is a Brazilian living in Tasmania. It is always tough going into a race with someone you have never met and know little about, putting all your faith in the people that are saying that she is good to go and is a good fit for your team. We met Margie at registration and we all seemed to connect well, we let her know of our plans and fished for some more info about her racing experience, no turning back now. We based our strategy on being at TAs by a certain time to ensure that we would make the end before the cutoff. We did do a pretty good job of this, dropping when we needed to and picking up extra ones when we were a little early. I think I was the only one that really enjoyed the format and it was so good to cross paths with all the racers of all caliber. We saw a lot of a few teams and really enjoyed spending some time with the SA Ambo boys, a really good bunch of fellas. We were tested to extremes out there, some more than others and yes I will admit that there was a few times that I said to myself, why the hell am I doing this to my body, I was in quite a bit of pain at certain times and the only way it was going to stop was at the finish line. I must admit that this was the best I have felt in a race, in particular on the bike, the bike normally really hurts me and I suffer big time, but not on this race. Being an ex soldier I very rarely miss ANZAC day as it is such a special day for me and my family, I have serve my country on a few occasions and worked with some awesome people. Not that this race was going to stop me from paying my respects to those that have and still serve. As the light was breaking Thursday morning I recited the Ode to myself and thought about my current situation. This race showed so much of the same attributes as soldiers live by and are proud to be an ANZAC. David Talbot, Shane Crook and Margarete Oti showed great Courage, Teamwork, Patience, Grit and Determination to beat this race and make it to the end as a cohesive team. We kept moving through the course and enjoying the unbelievable terrain and scenery. I couldn't believe how many snakes we saw, it was so nice to see them out and to see Margie's reaction to them. Margie's reaction to seeing a kangaroo in the wild was priceless. Although the elevation was relentless the descending was awesome and took away some of the pain. As disappointing as it was to have the ocean paddle cancelled the trek up the beach was a good way to end and in true rogaine style we made it back in time with 5min to spare. I had a great time and now looking back I really enjoyed it, it was so challenging. The euphoria that is experienced at the finish line so overrides any negative thoughts experienced during the race. We finished in a very respectable 6th place overall. I'm so grateful to my teammates for putting up with me and being great teammates. Thanks to my family, the support you give me when I head away to race is awesome and I love you all so much. Thanks to Trevor Mullens for putting us in touch with Margie and thanks Liam St Pierre for an awesome course and the rogaine AR concept. Mojo thanks for the photos, the hugs and just being there to say good job. The volunteers were great and a special shout out to Neil Tahi and your words of encouragement, your a legend.

01.01.2022 While Craig is pushing the limits of endurance at GeoQuest (due to finish at 8am tomorrow), I've spent the weekend immersed in learning and connecting Although we've been coaching our health/weight loss program for two years now, I am still so deeply moved as I listen to people's stories and hear them describe their fears, doubts, frustrations...then listen as their stories change to hope and joy as they finally get the results they need...
