14.01.2022 THE FORK IN YOUR ROAD Are you still using a bodybuilding split? Pounding it out on the treadmill? Using machines just because they are there? ... Why? Is it because your favourite Bodybuilder/ instabro or sister looks lean, cut and does it that way? Or you don’t really have the time or knowledge to put something together that will work for you? Don’t get me wrong bodybuilding splits can be highly effective if you utilize intensity and frequency effectively. Even cardio equipment can be effectively used the right way, but more on that another time. I’m going to concentrate on weight training something everybody must be doing no matter your goals, age or ability. The reason why most body splits are not effective is most programs are designed with the premise of hitting one body part once per week and that is straight up not enough frequency. (more on that later look out for protein synthesis in next week’s HBB) Let’s face it, trying to hit every muscle group 2-3 times per week is hard AF without sitting down and putting some serious thought into it, also when we train one body part once per day - per week, we tend to flog the crap out of that muscle group intensity wise. These are the 2 most overlooked components to any general gym goers training plan.

03.01.2022 When I first started in this industry majority of personal trainers had the mentality that training clients were to hammer them until they felt like spewing, make them so sore walking stairs was not an option for 5 days, maximum output was the only way. Sadly, this is still pretty standard. I don’t blame anyone, you know what you know. I was one of these trainers and for several years doing what I thought was right at the time. Over time this method just didn’t make sense to ...me. It was counterproductive, injury prone, lazy and in the end, it helped no one. Educating myself was the only way forward. And wasn’t that FUN!!! Finding information, finding courses, finding the right mentors to teach me was anything but easy, the internet is full of Whoo Whoo pseudo-science, pretty much everything you find these days has been spun into highly marketable bullshit. I want facts, peer-reviewed facts. No opinions or quick fixes, just facts that get you my client on the path to a complete lifestyle change. It has taken years to gain the knowledge I have now, to navigate a way through the crap you find online and I feel for you guys and girls, I really do. It must be disheartening spending countless hours online searching for an answer, trying something out to find it just didn’t work, to lose sight of why you joined the gym in the first place and quit because nothing is working. What a mind f%$k for you who don’t understand the science. I’m going to give you as much information on what to do and how to do it as I can. This why I have started this newsletter. :) Anyways here is part 1 of
