25.01.2022 GUIDED EXERCISE: ‘Creating an ALTAR OF GLAMOUR’ Once we have identified what part of our lives connects us to our sense of Glamour, we can then proceed, as my previous post suggested, to actively surrounding ourselves with our glamour keys.... Over the weekend, I spent some time arranging somewhat of an ‘altar’, or vignette of some of the objects, images, textures, smells that I identified as part of my ‘glamour finding’ exercises. (For more detailed descriptions on finding your glamour key and actioning your glamour key see previous posts or at The Everyday Glamour Project’s Blog Page). SETTING UP YOUR ALTAR OF GLAMOUR 1. Clear a space physically and emotionally: after all this is a sacred exercise in FEELING Glamour. Find a place where you can connect with the contents on a daily basis (bedside table, mantle piece, dining table, above your bath). 2. After identifying the images, words, textures, scents, in fact any of your identified glamour keys, you may already have at hand, collect these. 3. Begin to ARTFULLY arrange the objects (perhaps photos, a flower, favourite perfume, produce from your garden, anything that connects you to Glamour). 4. Once the setting-up is done, it is your responsibility to connect with it at your pace. Try engaging with your vignette at least for the first week, every day. Remembering, that it is the re-establishing of feeling ‘everyday glamour’ that is at the crux of this initiative. 5. CHANGE IT UP re-arrange, dismantle, re-assemble. Feel free to make changes to your altar of glamour whenever you feel the need. It is an ongoing, evolving, active instrument. Have fun with it. Enjoy the process of collecting and setting up this space. It is a localised version of something much greater, which allows you to not only anchor your feelings in a lived, everyday situation, but connects you to your centre of feeling.
