25.01.2022 I know full well that education without action is worthless, but action without education can be equally futile. So in that light, here are some great people, books and podcasts Ive been following, reading and listening to, trying to learn about racial disparity and figuring out how I can become a better anti-racist: @brenebrown has several great podcasts on anti-racism, and her interview with prof. @ibramxk is worth listening to. He also has some amazing books on the topic.... @austinchanning is a thought leader who has a book Im Still Here which is eye-opening and at times very uncomfortable, but sometimes thats a good thing. Im also interested in local indigenous stories such as @jackcharles43 who has a book called Born Again Blakfella. He is on Tedtalk explaining his mentorship work with indigenous inmates. Also @idknowyourself with Isaiah Dawe. He is doing a remarkable and ground breaking work mentoring young indigenous people and was interviewed on a podcast @alwaysourstories. I could go on, but I am also interested in what other people are listening to, doing and reading? Who are you following and supporting? Please share!!! I am genuinely interested to learn from you.

Know Yourself which is a local Aboriginal-led not for profit mentoring organization that supports Aboriginal young people in Out of Home Care (foster care) and those who have contact with the Juvenile Justice system. 21.01.2022 This Christmas Everyone Can Sing is supporting Newtown Mission who are feeding those who are doing it tough over Christmas. The amount of homeless has significantly increased during COVID and Newtown Mission are doing at least 100 lunches 4 days a week. They will also provide a take away meal for people on Christmas Day alongside a special Christmas Hamper. It will be a wonderful opportunity to support them! If you are coming to open mic (or you’re not but would like to contr...ibute) please bring along the following items: Items include: Hamper Donations * Chips / Lollies * Cans of soft drink * Chocolates * Bon bons * Mince pies * Small Christmas cake or pudding * Tin fruit * Tin leg ham Thanks for your generosity!

20.01.2022 Last night we had our first social distanced Covid-safe gathering and I feel so thankful for such a great turnout, such creative bravery and generosity of spirit. Thanks to all who came and thanks for bringing all those lovely treats for the Christmas Hampers for those doing it tough. 17.01.2022 I haven’t really drawn since I was ten, but the last few nights I have switched off my phone and enjoyed some sketching therapy (I might not be any good but I am enjoying the mind-shift!) I woke up this morning thinking that this season is giving me (and a lot of others I think!) a lot of growing pains. I guess the challenge is that it hurts and is extremely uncomfortable. But this morning I realised it’s also where the magic happens... I had a dream the other night where a lady said to me. I’m using my own sh*t to fertilise my garden. Thanks lady, whoever you are. That about sums It up. It might stink but good things are growing. Hang in there everyone, thinking of you all in this season (drawing attempt is of my beautiful friend @cristyoc)

15.01.2022 Its been a while since Ive posted, but this update too good not to share with you all: We have been working with some local shelters around Sydney to teach disadvantaged teens and children who normally cant afford lessons. The owner of these brilliant socks has said that on top of his own lessons, he would sponsor the lessons of one of the kids we teach from the shelter. Personally, I am so thankful and encouraged by his and other peoples generosity, enabling us to do more than we could otherwise. Thank you so very much!

08.01.2022 We decided that we want to do something for the most isolated people in our direct community and so called an Everyone Can Give meeting. We figure we cant change the whole world but we can extend a little bit of neighbourly love where we can. Will keep you all posted and hope you can be involved! Ps. 08.01.2022 This is Amelia! I am very excited to announce that she will be joining our team! Amelia is an AMTA registered music therapist, and an award-winning film/TV composer/producer who works regularly with major publishing companies such as Universal and Warner Chappell. Having received degrees in both vocal performance and music therapy, in addition to work experience in both fields, Amelia adopts certain therapeutic principles in her singing lessons. She believes that the proces...s of finding ones voice is similar to the process of finding ones self. Through unlocking the full vocal potential, one can also unblock emotional capabilities that might be currently inhibited. For those who intend to pursue a musical career, Amelia can also provide practical advice and assistance. Her own experience in the music industry equipped her to provide services such as artist development, keyboard & songwriting tutoring and career consultation. If you are interested in lessons, please contact me. First in, first served!

08.01.2022 While Im away on holiday, my crew (under the fearless leadership of Emily) went back to our nursing home on New Years Eve to lead a sing-a-long for the residents. This warms my heart like nothing else! Such generous hearts. 01.01.2022 This wonderful human (and teacher/performer extraordinaire) @carmelo.munzone told me that he does at least one thing a month that he is afraid of. Then he casually just dropped this gem: fearlessness is unobtainable, courage is not. Then I made him repeat it while filming and he graciously allowed me to even though that was very awkward. I thought it was inspiring and felt like it might inspire you too... now I’m going to have a think of what thing I will do that terrifies me...

01.01.2022 This is Nelson and Maxime (and Bill at the back). They have been married for 61 years and Maxime comes and visits her husband every day. She is full of optimism and thankfulness for him. Its inspiring to see such love and dedication, even when a loved one declines. Every year we come here to give, but then we get so much back! Such wonderful people! @ethanlipictures and @derekliangxx
