18.01.2022 134TH ANNUAL CAMDEN SHOW FRIDAY 27TH MARCH - SATURDAY 28TH MARCH 2020 The Camden Show Society Committee met on Monday 16th March 2020 to discuss the implication...s on the 2020 Show. In order to comply with Section 7 of the Health Act 2010 it is a requirement that all public events with more than 500 people be cancelled in response to COVID-19. The Camden Show Society chose to wait and gather as much information on the current national and worldwide situation and discuss our options for the 2020 Show. The Agricultural Societies Council of NSW Ltd (ASC) and the NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard have urged community events to follow the advice of the National and NSW Chief Medical Officer. Our members, volunteers, exhibitors, competitors and community are of utmost importance to us and it is with great sadness that we must cancel the 134th Annual Camden Show due to be held on the 27th & 28th March 2020. Due to the current climate of the virus, it was felt that we could not guarantee a postponed date would be an option. During the meeting, Greg Wall, Camden Show Society President, thanked all of the volunteers for their valued efforts, who have been working tirelessly for the past year to produce the 2020 Show. Thank you also to our sponsors and members that always show the committee great support. With the expectation of over 45,000 people in attendance over the two-day event, he reiterated that the health of our community must be at the forefront of our minds. The committee look forward to bringing the Camden Show back in 2021. In the 134 year history of the Camden Show we haven’t had to cancel many shows. The 1896 Show was cancelled following a long drought. Twelve years later 1908 drought again caused the cancellation of the Show. Ironically, the Show was held every year during World War I, but then was cancelled in 1919 because of a combination of the Spanish flu and drought. No Shows were held during World War II i.e. 1941 1945. The Show has been held without interruption since 1946. Whilst rain has affected many Shows there has been no cancellation due to rain or flooding, but there were some close calls. 1890, 1894 and 1956 flood caused the Show to be postponed. We thank everyone for your patience, understanding and ongoing support. We will be in contact with our stake holders in due course. 18.01.2022 ENSW ANNOUNCEMENT RE COVID-19 VIRUS In response to directions and advice from government, the Board of Equestrian NSW has taken the very difficult decision to s...trongly recommend that all events be cancelled with immediate effect. The government advice has been to minimise social contact and non-essential travel. The pressure on emergency services means that ambulances may not be available to attend events to treat serious injuries. In this situation, the responsible decision is to take all action necessary not to further burden the emergency services or risk members' safety at events. Equestrian NSW will also ask the NSW Office of Sport to underwrite all losses that our clubs and organising committees suffer as a result of cancelling events due to the Covid-19 virus. We thank all our members, organising committees, officials and volunteers for their understanding and support during these unprecedented times. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you all as soon as we have any further information. PETER DINGWALL Board President

15.01.2022 2021 Performance Guidelines The RAS will accept all performances gained between 1 December 2018 and 25 November 2020. The RAS have a limited number of stables t...o allocate at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and stabling availability substantially determines the maximum number of Exhibits that we can accept into our Competitions. The RAS has traditionally used performances gained according to its Performance Guidelines as the fairest way to select the best Exhibits and Competitors from amongst those who enter to compete at the Sydney Royal Horse Show. However, given the current circumstances, the RAS encourages all willing exhibitors to enter for 2021 and the RAS Horse Committee will work to take all information into account in the fairest way they can when offering acceptances of entry for the 2021 Show. Refunds Your refund cheques have been posted via Australia Post. Refunds will be paid by cheque to the nominated Payee and mailed to the address supplied on your RAS entry form. Judges A 2021 Judges Selection Meeting will be held by the Horse Committee after the RAS resumes operations.
