This was a relatively minor XSS vulnerability I found on Claus.com on the 9th December. ... As part of responsible disclosure, I managed to get in contact with the webmaster of the site. For anyone studying "ethical" vulnerability reporting, please know that you should give the site owner an opportunity to fix the issue. I gave a month until public disclosure. The attached video shows the vulnerability I sent to the webmaster. With social engineering, especially since the site could contain contact details of children, I felt that this was definitely worthwhile disclosing. I don't look for these, I seek no compensation, I offered to fix it without charge, however in this situation the webmaster has actually left the site vulnerability open. At first the whois email bounced. I managed to contact the site webmaster via Facebook. Sadly he has left the vulnerability on the site and ignored my recommendations. Disappointing.
