17.01.2022 Metacognition and self-regulation can have a significant impact on student progress, and it is likely that students who are more metacognitive, may be better equipped to adjust to home-supported learning. Teachers should be encouraged to think about the explicit teaching of metacognitive strategies through this period of adjustment. From the evidence, students who can plan, monitor and evaluate their own learning will demonstrate greater independence.
