25.01.2022 This week in Parliament I sponsored a large petition, calling on the government to reopen dance schools. It's just not fair that, under Labor's road map, even ...when dance schools open up on 9 November they will only be able to have 10 students (or 20 - max - if there are multiple rooms). At the same time, indoor community sport venues will have no limit on participants. This makes no sense, and is another example of Victorian women and girls being disproportionatly impacted by the road map. Dance is the most popular after-school activity for Victorian girls. At dance schools kids engage in anaerobic activity, with a focus on balance, strength and artistry, that can be done now in a COVID-Safe way. My speech is below.

23.01.2022 * Finals Update * Hi Everyone, Apologies if I have been offline for the past few days. Aaron and I really just needed to take some time to work through everything.... Just a quick update on where things are at. 1. With having only finished onstage at 5pm on Friday (before the 6pm lockdown), ALL of our equipment, paperwork, etc is still at Royal Pines. After finally securing new trucks, we will pick everything up Wednesday/Thursday. 2. Once we have everything, we then need to work through crits, photos, videos, scoresheets, etc 3. We then need to work through refunds (ie refunds owing to US in terms of accomodation, venue, and so on). You must remember that we have paid ALL expenses already (we were in the thick of it), and to pass on a refund to you, it has to flow down the line first. This all takes time. 4. Grand Final tickets, etc we will work through but again, please give us time. 5. EVO Elite Grand Finalists - I am still thinking about how I wish to proceed. Will let you know when info comes to hand. 6. Anything else I have forgotten we will likely discover WHEN my team are back in the office together. The earliest this will be is likely Friday. On a positive note, the Greater Brisbane hotspot is beginning to lift in many states, giving confidence to those flying home. Thank you again for your support in what was an extremely unexpected and difficult circumstance. Alot of people have said to me that they knew the risks coming to QLD, but I was shocked at where we ended up. QLD had over 110 days of ZERO community transmission - we went from ZERO to a 3 day lockdown overnight. I would have expected that from Sydney (with their recent outbreaks), but not here in QLD. For this, I am sorry. I know it is not my doing, but I feel bad all the same. I will do up a separate post about this too. In terms of #evograndfinal I need some time please to figure out my next move, but I promise that I will do my best to make something happen. For those that still had routines to go before the event was cancelled, we will refund those (along with grand final tickets), but please give us time.
