Here I've asked our new therapist, Helen, some of the burning questions that I personally wanted to know, and thought others might find interesting.... WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO BECOME A KINESIOLOGIST?... I love how Kinesiology sees the person as a whole body, mind and spirit - and is able to access what the client needs to help them heal in the most optimal way. It is incredibly gentle but can have such profound results. WHAT TYPES OF BENEFITS DO YOU COMMONLY SEE IN YOUR CLIENTS AFTER KINESIOLOGY SESSIONS? People feeling lighter, like a weight has been lifted. Less/no pain. Things that used to bother them aren’t so triggering any more. Feeling more content and able to cope. Self realisation that they have the power to help themselves, which can be so wonderfully empowering for the client. One session can have amazing results, however, if the issue is chronic it will most likely take more. CAN YOU RECALL A MOMENT FORM YOUR WORK THAT YOU WILL NEVER FORGET? There are many moments, but the ones that stick out while I write this are when we spend a session doing emotional work and after the session the client has found that their pain has lessened, gone or they have greater range of movement. I love seeing their surprise with how focusing on one area can help another, which may seem completely unrelated. Many people still think if they have a sore shoulder then that is what we’ll be working on in the session the sore shoulder. YOUR CLIENTS OFTEN SEE OTHER PRACTITIONERS. WHY WOULD WHAT YOU DO COMPLEMENT OTHER MODALITIES? Even though I work with the body as a structure, Kinesiology also uses an emotional component to the session, which can help clients who have recurring pain. Some clients see a practitioner from a different modality a few times and when they leave they feel better and the pain has gone or lessened. In a few weeks the pain has come back. Kinesiology can go into the issue on a deeper level to expose other issues e.g. stress and emotional trauma, once balanced this can have a more lasting effect on a correction.
