22.01.2022 And here it is! Our big announcement this week is that we are RE-OPENING! YAY! We've changed a few things and adapted a brand new format so you can get your hom...eschooling heroes together for an educational day out with some big pluses! Our sessions will be restricted to group bookings of up to 10 people for a set price and will be a bit shorter and include some different things. There's 2 sessions available each day too. And here's the best part... We've teamed up with some very clever ladies to bring you (drum roll please) Picnic in the Paddock. Now you can order a delicious grazing box when you make your order and feast on all sorts of cheeses, crackers and more while enjoying the view of the farm after your tour. Watch the calves play and the farms goings on while you eat and enjoy the winter sunshine. It doesn't get better than this! More information coming soon. Stay tuned See more

19.01.2022 Visit our next door neighbours Dairy Farm! A great , fun & educational day out!

18.01.2022 It's weaning day for these 4...a heifer and three bulls. Today we will castrate the bulls so that they can't mate with the heifers they are with. They are eati...ng about 2 kgs of grain each day each which means that they are able to get their protein requirements from the grain now rather than milk. If we kept them on milk they would ultimately grow faster but the milk that's available is needed for younger calves and, around the 3 month mark, these guys start to get a bit rowdy and hard to handle. With the grass situation looking a bit sad at the moment they will be fed hay to keep them going and stop them getting sick from too much grain. See more

15.01.2022 Our 2 latest calves...looking good!

15.01.2022 F for fresh! Tully has developed a little bit of swelling post calving which is normal. Her milk has come in and she gave about 11 or 12 litres this afternoon. ...As a 'fresh cow' her milk contains colostrum for several days after calving and must be kept seperate from the rest. We milk her into a bucket so we can feed her calf her milk and give any excess to other calves and also because we can't mix colostrum with drinking milk. Tully is eating about 6kgs of grain a day and all they hay she can eat...not an ideal diet for a fresh cow but it's all there is. See more
