25.01.2022 This term our schools learning focus is Entomology (the study of insects). All classes are undertaking a number of activities in relation to Entomology. This week Mr Dave and Ms Jordon got new office pets... Spiny Leaf Insects (Extatosoma tiaratum). Here is a of one of our students holding one of our Spiny Leaf Insects!

24.01.2022 In Term 4, we will be hosting Breakfast to Dinner, a 4 week cooking program for parents & carers. Breakfast to Dinner is an initiative of Uniting Care Wesley Bowden. Breakfast to Dinner focuses on cooking nutritious meals on a budget. You also get to take home all meals cooked during the program. Please register your interest with the school reception on 8255 1307.

23.01.2022 END OF TERM The last day of term is this Friday (25th of September). School finishes at 2pm. Term 4 begins Tuesday the 13th of October. ... To celebrate the last day of term, students are invited to wear casual clothes or a costume for a small coin donation. Money raised will be donated to Kickstart for Kids.



23.01.2022 Thats a wrap on Dental for Schools for Term 3! The Dental for Schools team will be back in Term 4 to complete any outstanding treatments. And after such an amazing response from our school community, Dental for Schools will also be back in 2021 during Term 2 for 8 weeks! Finally, The One Box is back in Term 4. For families allocated a One Box, collection resumes during Term 4 on Thursday of Week 1. However, collections will now occur near the school kitchen (The communit...y hub is being relocated during the school holidays). Ms Jordon

22.01.2022 Today some of our year 4/5 students made tote bags for local nurses with artist Ruby Chew as part of their nurse nurture kits project with Playford 10 (City of Playford).

22.01.2022 Last week Rooms 18 and 19 were visited by Georgina (Youth Development Officer from The City of Playford) and Liz from Calvary Hospital. Liz spoke about the role of nurses. The students also asked lots of questions about nursing. During Term 3, Rooms 18 and 19 will take part in Playford 10. Playford 10 seeks to link 10 year olds into community activities. As part of Playford 10, both classes will be creating nurture kits for nurses at Calvary North.

If you are a family allocated a One Box and you didn’t get the opportunity to collect it today, please see Ms Bonnie at The Community Hub at 2:45pm tomorrow (Friday). If you would like to receive a box this week and are not an allocated family, please see Ms Bonnie from 2:55pm as any left over boxes will be given out.

19.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS! In Term 3, The One Box is coming to Elizabeth Vale School! The One Box offers families a weekly box of fruit & veg, a loaf of bread and a 2L milk at no cost! Families will be able to collect their boxes on Thursday mornings and afternoons from school. ... If you are interested in receiving a weekly box of goodies from The One Box, please call the school reception on 8255 1307 or alternatively register your interest in person at reception. Please note we only have 20 boxes on offer for the beginning of Term 3. After 20 registrations, families will be placed on a waiting list.

18.01.2022 Did you know our school has a Breakfast Club?! Breakfast Club runs every Monday and Friday morning outside the kitchen from 8:30am. All students welcome! Special thanks to Foodbank SA and Kick Start for Kids for their ongoing support of our Breakfast Club and food programs! ... 11.01.2022 This year, Room 1 (Yr 6/7) has been collecting cans and bottles to raise funds to create gardening kits for families who lost their homes and gardens during the Kangaroo Island bush fires earlier this year. The gardening packs will be delivered to Kangaroo Island by school staff in the coming weeks. Well done Room 1!

10.01.2022 This week some of our Year 3 and 4 students participated in Playford 10 programs! Playford 10 is a program offered in collaboration with The City of Playford which seeks to link children into ongoing activities. 18 students started choir with Young Adelaide Voices this week on Tuesday afternoons whilst Rooms 18 and 19 continued their work on nurture kits for nurses at Calvary North.

06.01.2022 Well done Elizabeth Vale School community! We received an overwhelming response to our upcoming Dental for Schools visit with over 280 consents from primary students returned! As a result we now have Dental for Schools visiting from Monday the 1st of June until Friday the 19th of June (Mon-Wed in Week 6, Wed-Fri in Week 7 and Mon-Fri in Week . Thank you to all families and carers for returning the consent forms.
