16.01.2022 Science Week 10-14 August 2020 When you added the Alka Seltzer tablet piece in a bottle of water, oil and food colouring, it sank to the bottom and started dissolving and creating a gas. As the gas bubbles rose, they took some of the colored water with them. When the blob of water reached the top, the gas escaped and down went the water. Cool, huh? By the way, you can store your Blobs In A Bottle with the cap on, and then anytime you want to bring it back to life, just add another tablet piece.

What family tradition did you love when you were a child? Mine is All the excitement getting ready for the big celebration Ied ul fitr, cooking festive food, tiding up the house, wearing new clothes, family gathering and eat Ketupat (rice cake packed inside a diamond-shaped container of woven palm leaf pouch) all day.

09.01.2022 We attended story time at the library celebrating Book Week Curios Creatures, Wild Minds, we were lucky to listen to the story read by the author as well as the illustrator Kelly Canby. One was dressing up as a princess, the other as a batman and the cutest flower fairy. Me and my colleague were dress up as Thing 1 and Thing 2 from The Cat in the Hat. What were you dressing up as for the Book Week or even Halloween??

08.01.2022 Science Week 10-14 August 2020. When you pour water onto a dry erase stick figure doodled on a smooth surface, a strong buoyancy force overcomes the stickiness of the ink, pulling the doodle off the surface and causing it to not-so-magically float on the water.

05.01.2022 Back on our regular outing for the story time at the library, booking is essential as they can only have 12 attendance and it only happening on Thursday. We were listening to the stories about birds . Social distancing still applies the difference is we take away the craft to do it a home. It has been awhile, I could see lots of improvements on the children. We stopped by to the park to check on some birds!

04.01.2022 Science Week 10-14 August 2020 Orange peels called limonene (Figure 1) is responsible for this effect. Limonene is a hydrocarbon, which means that molecules of limonene are composed of only carbon and hydrogen atoms Balloons are made primarily of rubber. Like limonene, rubber is a hydrocarbon (Figure 2), so it’s non-polar as well. It is well known by chemists that non-polar substances dissolve well in other non-polar substances (we like to say that like dissolves like). Therefore, when the limonene oil contacts the surface of a balloon, some of the rubber balloon dissolves in the limonene. This weakens the balloon, causing it to pop.
