16.01.2022 Happy New Year EWOWCs Is it February 2021 already! Howdy EWOWC enthusiasts! ... FROM QUILL TO STYLUS It's a COVID-19 changed world and we've been practising in such different times that we nearly forget that technology has long been the legal profession's friend. DID SOMEONE SAY SURVEY - WHY CERTAINLY With sunsetting clauses soon taking effect across those jurisdictions who permitted online witnessing and signing, we're interested to learn from your experiences and would be delighted if you would help us compile some data by completing our survey: https://bit.ly/3ailMcD. Wherever there is a nil response, please select other and type nil, then use 1/01/1900 as the related date to that response (this form creator is feeling their way around form design ). DATA SHMATA - PRIVACY & SUCH The data will be stored by the Electronic Wills and Online Witnessing Committee and the Australasian Cyber Law Institute for the purpose of assessing the use and effectiveness of the COVID-19 electronic signing and witnessing legislation across jurisdictions. We'd be delighted to receive further direct feedback if you are interested to [email protected]. Questions may also be sent to our Chair [email protected]. EVENT 2 - 18 FEBRUARY 2021, 5:00PM We take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing interest and support. There will be exciting developments at EWOWC and ACLI this year. So stay tuned for the announcement about a fabulous lineup for Event 2 on 18 February 2021. There's a special guest or two that you just won't want to miss!

14.01.2022 https://bit.ly/3oKLlZl It seems like this was 'forever' ago but it was only recorded with Peter Moran, Ines Kallweit and Naomi Guyett in April 2020. Thanks go to Legally Yours for making the video happen so we've all got a permanent blueprint of best practise. With only 2 weeks until Christmas, practitioners now know how to confidently sign, witness and Zoom/DocuSign. ... What can your EWOWCs say except 2020, you've been quite the year! What have your 2020 client experiences been with electronic wills and online witnessing? We'd be delighted to receive your anonymised client stories to [email protected]. #wills #willandestates #ElectronicSignature

11.01.2022 Hello Hello Hello If you've joined us in the last week, it's time to tell our community: > Who you are ... > Why you're here > Your future wills/online witnessing epitaph and .... go!

08.01.2022 Looking forward to seeing you all there!

08.01.2022 #ElectronicSigning The EWOWC are aware that the Commonwealth provisions permitting companies to sign and witness documents electronically have not been extended beyond 21 March 2021. We will assess the debates to identify any policy that has caused the reversion to paper and get back to you.... In the interim, if anyone knows why the Commonwealth has adopted this position, please contact the Committee.

06.01.2022 Legislative Extension Did you know that further Victorian COVID legislation is awaiting passage on Thursday 17 September 2020 to extend the date of operation of https://bit.ly/2FAH1un and similar to late April 2021! What’s been your experience so far with clients?... Will the extension benefit your practise? What’s happening in your jurisdiction?
