24.01.2022 Steven and I have visited a number of our patients in nursing homes. We can provide a limited number of services. If possible, the best approach would be to have a family member or carer bring your loved one into our clinic.

23.01.2022 Thankfully times have changed!

11.01.2022 #HumansOfTheHospital Dentist Dr Steven Brandson I’ve been at the clinic now for nearly eight months and I’ve been doing dentistry for 30-plus years. I enjoy th...e technical side of things and working on patients. I find a lot of my enjoyment comes from making the patients comfortable and happy. Patients often come in here with multiple health issues, and they’re very appreciative of whatever you do for them and that’s what I get a lot of satisfaction from. The first day that I started here, a lovely chap came in who had broken his front tooth and we virtually built it up from scratch. I didn’t think anything of it, but he went away and brought me back a banana cake. It was a great start; it was great to do something for someone who was so wrapped that you’d done it for them. People who come to the dentist are often nervous, but it’s important to talk to them and help them relax. Next week is Dental Health Week and this year the focus is on the oral health of the mouth and encouraging people to come in for their regular visits. There’ll be a display in the main foyer of Royal North Shore Hospital on Thursday and Friday next week with lots of giveaways like toothbrushes and toothpaste, so hopefully we can get people to really start thinking about their oral health." 10.01.2022 Another great victory for the oral health of Australia's children! The Government has restored the CDBS cap to $1000, with the Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt signing it in into law today.

06.01.2022 Worrying statistics. Ideally we would like to see kids for their first appointment from about 18-24 months.

05.01.2022 WE ARE FIGHTING FOR OUR FARMERS!! As the severity of the drought starts to hit home with the wider Australian population, more people are asking, "What can I do to help?" Little things make the difference, every penny count! This week the Exceldent team bought this brownie from Caths Cupcake Mills, which 80% will be donated to help the farmers! Please make sure to donate to a charity that is actually doing something in the area.

05.01.2022 It's time to take the fight to private health insurers. You can lodge your submission by going to ada.org.au/making-a-submission Please remember to share this with friends and colleagues and encourage them to make a contribution too!

03.01.2022 Although Steven doesn't condone nose-picking, apparently it may help with improving oral health. Wait until they bring out the chewing gum. YUK!
