22.01.2022 A big thanks to Anthony Cave for generously volunteering his time and incredible skills to carefully extract the old septic tank and put it back in the ground elsewhere. He also used his machinery to build up and level the area. The site is now good to go for our newly acquired shed to be built out the back of the existing blacksmiths workshop.

21.01.2022 Were open once again this Sunday the 26th of march 2pm - 4pm. 15.01.2022 Last month we had the pleasure of meeting a young bloke with a real passion for blacksmithing. Locky built his own home made forge and he keeps himself busy learning as he goes. Great to see knowledge being passed on by Don our resident blacksmith.

13.01.2022 The quiet Eyre Peninsula town of Tumby Bay was literally humming on the Friday night of January 8 as the Excell Blacksmith and Engineering Museum was open for our recent annual Twilight Tour. The Twilight Tour is a special opening to suit our many visitors to Tumby Bay during the busy January holiday period. On a balmy summers evening after various holiday activities such as fishing amongst the beautiful St Joseph Banks Group of islands or the Scripture Union Family Missi...on and then VacSwim lessons for the kids, many families found their way to this well-kept, working museum of blacksmithing and historic engineering technologies. Some were lucky enough to have a free return trip on Ross Storys horse and cart from the caravan park, while others enjoyed a pleasant walk, enjoying the beautiful summer evening weather in the delightful township of Tumby Bay. read the full story..on http://www.excellmuseum.org.au/twilight-tour/

12.01.2022 The annual Twilight Tour is on again. We hope to see you on the evening of Friday 10th Jan. See the flier for more details.

12.01.2022 EBEM would like to thank everyone that came to the museum on the 6th of January for our 14th annual twilight tour. It was by far our best attendance with close to 200 people through the door over three hours. Our vice chairman Ian Carlton started off the night with a speech and a history of the museum since the opening of the shop in 1905 to the present day. We were honoured to host Tumby Bay Mayor Sam Telfer, who cut the ribbon and officially opened our new machinery shed.... Which is filled with an array of working historic engines. A massive thankyou to Fred Schmal, our visiting blacksmith from Adelaide, for making the trip and supporting us every year and exhibiting his skills on the forge. He is always happy to pass on his knowledge and passion for a rapidly disappearing art. Last but not least, a special thankyou to all our volunteers and committee members for the hard work in keeping the tradition and the museum alive.

10.01.2022 Open every second sunday of the month 2pm - 4pm Come in today and have a look around at a piece of history

09.01.2022 For kids going to a museum usually means boredom. Staring at old things theyre not aloud to touch and being quiet. A working museum is a great way to prove them wrong. Especially if they have an opportunity to swing a hammer and be loud without getting in trouble! Open this sunday the 26th of feb from 2pm to 4pm
