25.01.2022 A fun valentine day reminder regarding the upcoming changes to the way you access ATO services

21.01.2022 If you are lodging payroll information under STP, then you don't need to issue payment summaries to employees. What you DO need to do is submit an STP finalisation declaration. This declaration is due by: - 14 July if you have more than 20 employees - 31 July if you have less than 19 employees For assistance with reviewing and finalising your employee STP data, contact me today!

20.01.2022 Happy 2020 everyone. I hope your luck knows no end this year.

15.01.2022 With everything that is going on, just a reminder to go to official sources for information. A great place to start is the Treasury website: https://treasury.gov.au/coronavirus Stay safe everyone.

14.01.2022 Auskey is ending March 2020!! The new method of accessing ATO services will be via myGovID. There seems to be a lot of confusion around myGovID, what exactly it is and how it is different to MyGov. MyGov. This has been around a while, and is an account by which an individual can access government services such as Medicare and Centrelink. It has nothing to do with myGovID.... myGovID. This is your personal ID that has been verified by the government (think of it as my Government ID). The myGovID app exists on your phone or tablet (can be on multiple devices), and you create a log in using a personal email address. Then you verify your ID using a minimum of 2 sources - drivers licence, Medicare card, passport or birth certificate. The app is an authenticator, with the added security that your ID has been verified, so that you can log into government websites. So from March 2020, when you log in to a relevant ATO site you will need to enter the authentication code from the website into the myGovID app. As a business owner, there is one more step in order to access and allow access to ATO services - you need to log into Relationship Access Manager (RAM) and link your ABN to your myGovID. Business owner information is pulled straight from the ABR, so please make sure your ABR details are up to date. Once the business owner has linked their ABN to their myGovID, they will be able to invite other users to access the business. I know this is a lengthy post, so if you want to skip straight to a helpful website, please see https://info.authorisationmanager.gov.au/ for more information and guides for getting set up with myGovID and RAM. For assistance with changing to myGovID, please contact me today.
