07.01.2022 Cairns Airport came alive yesterday in a welcome like no other with the long awaited return of interstate visitors after months of reduced capacity and intersta...te travel restrictions Together with Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) arriving travellers on the first interstate flight were greeted with a special Tropical North welcome which included a water salute, roving animal mascots, indigenous dancers, baby crocodile, plus more This week we saw 20,000 passengers travel through the terminal, which is a tenfold increase in passenger numbers since early June.
