23.01.2022 Here it is! Your I-Miss-Exercise-at-Ellison-Already-Spring-Holiday-Workout! Enjoy! Warm up - at least 5 minutes, 10 is even better. First raise your heart rate with brisk walking/jogging on the spot. Then alternate with some jumping jacks, air boxing and bum kicks. After this, do some dynamic stretches - arm circles, arm swings, hip circles, light squats, ankle and wrist circles. Then do the following sequence 3 times (or 2), with a 1-2 minute break between rounds. T...here are modifications (in brackets) if you need them!! 20 bodyweight squats (or chair squats*) 10 push ups (full, modified or wall) 20 alternating lunges (or steps ups) 10 glute bridges (or rear leg raises*) 20 jumping jacks (or high knees*) 10 dumbbell rows (any approp weight) 30-60 sec plank (or abdominal bracing*) * modifications outlined below... Then cool down with some stretches or easy walking. Dont forget to rehydrate! and HAVE FUN!! Modifications: Chair squats - stand in front of a kitchen chair. Slowly lower your bottom onto the chair, pause then stand back up again. Repeat. Standing rear leg raise - hold onto a chair or a wall, raise one leg by pressing it straight back behind you and squeeze your glutes. Pause, return to start, and repeat). 10 each side. High knees - you can walk these. Nice slow walking on the spot, lifting your knees high as you go. Abdominal bracing - stand tall, draw in your navel towards your spine while lightly contracting your abs and hold just as long as feels comfortable. Dont forget to breathe!

18.01.2022 Here it is, your Easter holiday super 7s workout! First a 7 minute warm up - brisk walking (2 mins) and light jogging (2 mins) then alternate high knees, air boxing, jumping jacks (total 3 mins) Then 7* rounds of...... - 7 push ups (floor or wall) - 7 squats - 7 sit ups (or standing elbow to opp knee) - 7 squat jumps (or squat reach) - 7 alternating lunges (7 each side) - 7 glute bridges (or standing glute lifts) - 7 triceps dips (or trips kick backs) Then cool down with some stretches. * Get the family to join in! * You can adjust the number of rounds according to your fitness level. Dont forget to drink plenty of water!

16.01.2022 I posted this last week... or at least I thought I did but it seems it never... well... posted! So youve had a week off (youre welcome!) and should now be ready for this workout at home! You can recruit the kids for this one! Warm up - at least 5 minutes, 10 is even better. First raise your heart rate with brisk walking/jogging on the spot. Back to Barracks The way this works is that you have a set of exercises (the barracks) which you do in between each of a series of missions. Barracks: 20 squats, 20 push ups, 20 lunges, 20 rows (using a suitable weight), 1 min plank Mission 1: Perimeter run jog or run the perimeter of your house or through each room or around the garden whatever works! Barracks (as above) Mission 2: Stuck in the mud get the family in a 5 minute round of if you are doing this on your own do 1 minute of slow mountain climbers Barracks (as above) Mission 3: Catch on the move get the family involved in a game of catch, but the deal is you have to be moving the whole time and if you are doing this on your own, play catch against a wall while moving back and forth. Barracks (as above) Then cool down with some stretches or easy walking. Dont forget to rehydrate and HAVE FUN!
