21.01.2022 Quite simply, when trying to understand the function of the human body and the movements we perform in every day life and through exercise, it important to understand that every individual movement is intricate in nature. Think of this, there are more than 600 skeletal muscles within the human body that make up 40% to 60% of our body’s total weight. Our muscles are used for necessary human bodily functions including, force generation for basic movement, force generation for ...postural support and heat generation when under cold stress. This understanding makes it evident how important skeletal musculature and its functions are to performing and executing exercise efficiently. 15.01.2022 There is ongoing debate regarding the use of caffeine to enhance performance; does it boost or hinder performance? Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant that acts upon adenosine receptors in the brain. It has been shown to increase alertness and concentration, elevate mood, improve reaction time, increase fatty acid mobilization, facilitate calcium exchange, and potentially improve activity of the sodium-potassium pump. As a result, it can be considered benefici...al in speed, strength, and endurance activities, particularly ones depending on quick reactions. However, increased use of caffeine will decrease the body’s sensitivity and will requires larger doses to gain the same effect. This may cause restlessness, insomnia, and gastro intestinal problems. Furthermore, individuals who have never consumed caffeine or have shown to have sensitivity to it could be prone to the same reactions. It is also important to note that caffeine can increase risk of dehydration and heat-related illness, so adequate fluid should be consumed with it. See more

14.01.2022 This is client Anja She came in to me as a rugby player wanting to increase her strength speed and agility in order to make her a more versatile second rower... He results have been astonishing ... She has developed amazing strength and power and in turn her rugby has improved exponentially ... ... Yesterday we reached some amazing land marks hitting a 100cm box jump and a 60 kg no handed back squat which she made look easy ... I am so proud of this girls dedication and drive to improve ... Well done Anja keep striving to improve and the sky is your limit !!!
