25.01.2022 We took a trip to the local river for a fish the other day. Not a fish in sight but plenty of wildlife to keep us happy snapping.

22.01.2022 So we have ventured to Cessnock where we will be for the foreseeable future. Not exactly the start to us living on the road that we were hoping for but now it is all about staying safe. So my desire to improve my landscape photography has shifted to something smaller. Lucky we have treats on board for Charlie which makes her a willing model.

21.01.2022 As we have not traveled much since the onset of Covid, we thought we might share what is happening in our new home base in Blackall, Queensland. A cute little one bedroom house on near 1/4 acre. We are doing some renovations inside and will share the progress over the coming weeks and also take some photos and video of Blackall which is a great country town of around 1200 residents.

19.01.2022 Hey all that know the link between us and the infamous band Freehold. The question has been raised as to whether a follow up gig is a good idea. As a band we had the best time belting out the old tunes 30 years after a last gig. Jump on if you are keen and we will make it happen.

16.01.2022 Very cold at the Moree Showgrounds this morning. Not able to entice Charlie out from the covers yet!

15.01.2022 We went for a stroll yesterday and to add insult to injury we have found we are within a 5 minute walk of a nice brewery which is of course closed. Bummer!

15.01.2022 We are finally on the move after 10 weeks in lockdown. Charlie and I took a spin around Narrabri today, checking out the town and meeting the locals.

10.01.2022 We have been very stressed over the last few days as we have read posts from fellow grey nomads being removed from caravan parks and camp grounds. We are now seeing some clarification on the restrictions whereby permanent residents of parks and those living on the road full time with no home to go to are able to stay at these facilities. Thank goodness common sense prevailed.

08.01.2022 Weethalle, New South Wales, Australia

07.01.2022 Last weekend we went to the Barcaldine race meeting. Only a small crowd but such a great day. Mel backed only one winner for the day ridden by Alisha Ross pictured here with Mel.

06.01.2022 With so much time on our hands, every sunset is a new photo opportunity. I spent 20 minutes setting up our camera on the tripod and snapping every few minutes looking for the best shot. Mel whipped out her iPhone 10 for 30 seconds and snapped this gem.

04.01.2022 The lounge room before and after. The bold heritage red looks great and Mel found a technicolor lounge to suit.

03.01.2022 We are in Townsville having both the Avida and Fiat services done on the motorhome. A short ferry ride over to Magnetic Island provided a real holiday feel with bars and restaurants overlooking Horseshoe Bay.

02.01.2022 Boredom is setting in. Have now removed pretty much every bug which we have picked up in our short travels so far. The motor home is almost as clean as when we bought it. We are hanging to get on with our travels in the coming months. Hard to have a travel blog standing still!
