25.01.2022 The ladies had a lovely day yesterday exploring Jaipur with Naru. You won’t see me in any photos -I was very under the weather.
24.01.2022 Reflecting on what a privilege it is to be able to show ladies incredible India and to form friendships to last a lifetime. India you have brought us so much. Can’t wait to go back.
23.01.2022 Udaipur - known as the city of lakes and Venice of the East it is a beautiful place to visit in India. We took a sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola with our guide Arvind, had dinner with an Australian author who had written a book set in Udaipur (called I’ve come to say goodbye), saw City Palace, explored the city in Tuk Tuks, got some henna and had our palms read. Thank you Udaipur for the memories.
21.01.2022 Have to agree....the Fairmont Jaipur is one very special hotel. A favourite of ours. Must be the rose petals and drums when we arrive.
21.01.2022 We started doing caricatures as a cover for our tour itineraries. I have to say they have given us many laughs over the years. Trying something different for this years so we can’t wait to see it! #india #friendships #laughs #travel #delhi #varanasi #agra #jaipur #deogarh #udaipur #caricature
18.01.2022 Please watch this video to find out why we were moved to have our fundraiser for Ladli. They have sent us jewellery and linen handmade by their artisans which arrived this week. It’s truly a great feeling for Ladli and its dedicated group of artisans when they see their handmade products reach in large and get recognised. Many of our young boys and women artisans who have earlier been rescued from street and dangerous life, thankful for these life changing opportunities and ...now envisioning a future where they might control their own fate with dignified livelihood and talent. These products are not just an ethical garment piece rather it all narrates several stories of inspiration, determination and liberation. If you can’t make our night but you would like to purchase a product made with love let us know. ALL monies raised will go to Ladli. See more
18.01.2022 We love the work that Ladli do and look forward to showing the ladies from this tour how special they are. Watching the empowerment of women can be life changing.
17.01.2022 Wow the linen has arrived from Ladli for us to sell at our fundraiser or before. Handmade quality king, queen, double and king single quilts and throws. We can even order another one if the one you want sells. How special we are to have a relationship with other women where we can help them and in turn they help us just by knowing them. If you would like to show your support please feel free to look at the jewellery and linen they have made.
17.01.2022 We love that our fundraiser helps if only just a little to make an impact. Thank you to I-India for impacting every day.
15.01.2022 A big thank you to the Wagga Daily Advertiser for sharing our story. We are all looking forward to Saturday and thank those who have purchased tickets and handmade products from Ladli.
14.01.2022 Our hot air balloon ride was postponed from yesterday to today due to weather. So thankful we got to do it today as it would be a shame to miss out on this! Such a beautiful experience every time.
11.01.2022 More photos from India - love our guide Manu - so lovely to see her again. We then visited Alark and Ashmina. On our way to Jaipur.
11.01.2022 Sandra, Jill and myself would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended our fundraiser, brought goods, made a donation and helped us with your time. TOGETHER we raised over $5000AUD!!This is so much more than we had envisaged but this will make such a difference to so many lives through I-India-Giving Street Children a Future and Ladli. We love their work and feel honoured to be able to show them that we not only want to visit them in India but help them. Helping others is a gift to yourself. Charu Goswami
10.01.2022 India is so much more than the sights and sounds...it is the people of India you meet. The children at Ladli, the guides who are amazing and share not just their knowledge but their own stories, the villagers whose land we use for the hot air balloon ride to land and the women you travel with
10.01.2022 I cannot thank everyone enough for the wonderful support we have had with our fundraiser for I-India (Ladli). To Sandra and Jill - how special to see your idea come to fruition and what special ladies you are. To the ladies who are traveling far and wide today to come tonight. To the local ladies who are coming. To Country Curry House WAGGA. To the ladies who have brought Ladli goods (we still have more to sell). To the people who have donated money. We know there are so many worthy causes to give money to so we absolutely appreciated the donations we have received. Now to have a fantastic night. Thank you so much again.
08.01.2022 Taj Mahal - always love it always will.
07.01.2022 Friendly faces so happy to see us - made our day
06.01.2022 I didn’t post yesterday upon hearing what happened in Christchurch. So sad for the Muslim Community. We left Jaipur and travelled to Deogarh - the road is a little scary but we have the most capable drivers Mr Singh and Mama. Deogarh is definitely worth a visit if you come to India. It is close to Udaipur and we stay in a 17th Century Mahal that was once occupied by the current owners family. We went on a village safari through the narrow markets and outskirts. We wanted ...to see a Leopard but no luck. Great way to see the town and it’s friendly people. The kids were poking their tongues out and we joked that maybe they had seen too many western selfies but they tell us they do it out of excitement and they don’t speak English. We had the pleasure and honour of spending time with the Maharajah and his family in their home overlooking the flamingoes on the lake. What beautiful people they are. Dinner on the rooftop. The monkeys are massive and if you are not careful they will do their morning poo on your head! Kim L had one jump on her back. We then made our way to Udaipur. Post to follow. See more
05.01.2022 Wow today has me lost for words. Some very private moments that are just for the ladies but sharing some of the photos. We woke up pre dawn to be ready for a boat ride to witness the morning rituals. We then walked through the streets of Varanasi to see where they have knocked down houses to find old temples and clear a direct path from the Golden Temple to the Ganges. PM Modi was here yesterday to lay the foundation stone. A visit to the essential oil shop, silk emporium and back to Varanasi airport. Next visit needs to be longer. Varanasi you leave an imprint on the hearts of those who are blessed to visit here.
04.01.2022 The beautiful and generous Tania Smith has just given us these paintings for us to auction tonight. They will be silent auctioned tonight and we will take any bids over messenger if anyone is interested. Thank you
02.01.2022 What an incredible couple of days. Feeling so blessed that my life allows me to spend time with so many beautiful ladies in a Country that is beyond special to me. Yesterday we visited the Sikh Temple and Akshardham followed by dinner with Soni,Santosh and Neha. Today we flew to Varanasi (mind you we arrived at the same time as the Indian Prime Minister!!) , visited Sanarth and just arrived at the Ganges. Loving life.
