24.01.2022 Sunset cruise on Yellow Water, Kakadu #ExperiencetheWild #TopEndBirdingandWildlifeTour #Kakadu NTAustralia #WildlifeTours

24.01.2022 Early morning walks with interested visitors to Kakadu for the Bird Week. Highlight was good views of a pair of Sandstone Shrike-thrushes that came within a few metres while the group was looking at rock art, also fleeting, but good views of a White-lined Honeyeater.

15.01.2022 Red-collared Lorikeet feeding in our Umbrella Tree. Red-collared Lorikeets are native to the Top End and even more gaudy than their close relative the Rainbow Lorikeet. Umbrella Trees are also native to closed forest, riparian areas in coastal northern Australia. #RedCollaredLorikeet #TopEndBirds #BestofTopEndBirdingTour #ExperiencetheWild #TopEndNT #SeeKakadu #Kakadu #NorthernTerritory @TourismTopEnd @AusOutbackNT @Australia #Birdwatching #BirdwatchingTours #EcoTours #ConservationTours

13.01.2022 Don't let your cat out!!!! Inside cats are healthier and safer, but more importantly wildlife is safer when they are kept away.

13.01.2022 Comb-crested Jacana on Yellow Water cruise at Kakadu. They have the longest toes (relative to body size) of any bird on the planet. They are polyandric, the male cares for the young whle the female flits off , mates with another and then leaves him... The males are very astute fathers, some times gathering the small chicks under their wings to protect them. #CombCrestedJacana #TopEndBirds #BestofTopEndBirdingTour #ExperiencetheWild #TopEndNT #SeeKakadu #Kakadu #NorthernTerritory @TourismTopEnd @AusOutbackNT @Australia #Birdwatching #BirdwatchingTours #EcoTours #ConservationTours

06.01.2022 Red-flowered Kurrajong (brachichiton paradoxum). These small trees throw all their leaves at the begining of the dry (to retain moisture) and then flower. You have leaves or flowers, but not both together at the same time. They are always worth a good look as they are a favourite with nectar feeders. This tree was right next to the Eucalypt with the orchids. #Kurrajong #TopEndTreesandPlants #BestofTopEndBirdingTour #ExperiencetheWild #TopEndNT #SeeKakadu #Kakadu #NorthernTerritory @TourismTopEnd @AusOutbackNT @Australia #Birdwatching #BirdwatchingTours #EcoTours #ConservationTours
