25.01.2022 Merhaba, The largest rug of Ottomans last period is under a big cleaning and repair service. The rug was woven during the Abdulhamit the 2nd in 1897 ,it is a Hereke rug ,it is 29 m long,14.5 m wide covers an area of 468m2 and weighs 3 tons. Hereke is a unique weaving center located at the northern edge of Izmit Bay, near Istanbul. The village of Hereke is recognized for producing the finest hand knotted carpets in the world. These special carpets represent the pinnacle of the Turkish carpet weaving tradition. Sultan Abdulmecid, Ottoman Emperor, established the Hereke Imperial Factory in 1843 to produce carpets, fabric, upholstery and curtains exclusively for the Ottoman Court.

24.01.2022 Merhaba everyone, This is Ayasofya ( St. Sophia ) in Istanbul ,it is now open as a mosque ,350 thousand people were around hippodrome area to witness the moment ( to join the Friday praying ). This mighty old building will be open to anyone who would like to visit and it will be free of charge

Her parents now own the kebab shop in Port Fairy ( they used to own Ramellas) Her part Turkish heritage and holidays to Turkey has been her inspiration..... How clever you are ELA..
