This is because the IsaMill has an internal classifying rotor that keeps coarser particles inside the mill for regrinding and lets finer particles pass. In normal operation there is a dead space in the IsaMill just next to the shaft that causes a reduction in media velocity within the mill. The conical spacers provide a pathway that allows for media to accelerate into the disc kidneys. Approaching half our IsaMill installations currently in operation process an F80 >100 microns, at a total installed power base of 129.4 MW. These applications exist in Copper, Lead Zinc, Molybdenum, Tin, Platinum Group Metals (PGMs) and Gold. A: The Operating costs are much lower than bacterial and pressure leaching, and the Capital costs are about half, on a similar concentrate. Thats a pretty good rough guide. For more specifics, though, the operating and capital costs are dependent on the concentrate analysis - mostly the sulphide concentration. We can happily produce a high level capital and... operating cost estimate based on a concentrate mineralogical analysis. Q: Could Albion be used to expand existing POx plants? A: Actually, yes. Its appealing because of the tight sulphide tolerance of an autoclave. The Albion is designed upstream of the autoclave to reduce the acid requirements and allow much broader ranges of feeds than a POx plant could treat alone. Q: Is there any specific water requirement for the Albion Process? A: Not really. Albion can take much lower quality water than a bacterial or pressure leach plant can. And if your site must use hypersaline water, weve conducted tests where the salinity is actually beneficial to the leach performance. 11.01.2022 When George Fisher project's Zinc retreatment needed a fine grind down to 7 microns, they chose IsaMill and the results were great. Recovery improvement was expected due to better liberation, and they got it. But they also saw a significant drop in reagents and circulating loads. For context, fine minerals would have been expected to consume more reagent due to their higher net surface area, not less. But improved liberation dropped circulating loads. Clean fresh surfaces fr...om the IsaMills increased flotation rates and selectivity, and these significantly reduced the need for collector and depressant. The AEA interprets stress waves created by the impact of grinding media with the internal shell liner. An acoustic emission mean signal is collected from various points along the length of mill shell, including the rotor, for interpretation. And it works.
