23.01.2022 Who doesn’t love the bee? In our Preschool room we discussed various body parts of the bee, for example the Wings, Stinger, Striped body, Eyes, and The head. We also spoke about the wonderful work that honeybees do all around. We believe children have really connected to nature through hands-on art projects like nature drawing and painting. In fact, studies show that environmental art influences what children think, feel, and do about environmental issues because they remember the images they created themselves for a long time. This also gave the children a close up look and sense of appreciation for the amount of work that Honeybees put in to make yummy honey. #learningthroughplay #intentionalteaching #teachablemoments #earlychildhoodeducation #makelearningfun #immersiveexperience #parramattachildcare #parramattamums

21.01.2022 This week we celebrate Children's Week. It is a National celebration that recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of all children. The theme for Children's Week 2020 celebrates the right of all children to choose their own friends and safely connect with others. This is based on Article 15 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. As an important part of our daily roles, the rights of a child is paramount for a educator and their teaching curriculum so that we can make a difference in a child's life!

19.01.2022 There are some things that people do on Remembrance Day at 11:00 AM. That is when the World War ended. At a ceremony for Remembrance Day, a tune called "The Last Post" is played on a bugle (or sometimes a trumpet). Then there is two minutes of silence. At the end of the silence, the bugle plays a tune called "Reveille". In many countries, many people wear a poppy on Remembrance Day, and for a few days before. The remembrance poppy is an artificial flower to commemorate those who died in war. People bring wreaths made of poppies to Remembrance Day ceremonies. The poppy is a symbol to show they remember the wars, and the soldiers who fought in them. Poppies were chosen as a symbol because they often grew in battlefields after the soldiers stopped fighting.
