02.01.2022 Dont forget to play During the pandemic, our Explore & Develop Services have been supporting families who have been staying home with remote learning play-base...d programs. In the early years, a childs main way of learning is through play. When children are playing, they are exploring, discovering, negotiating, taking risks, and problem solving. These are all the important foundations for developing literacy, numeracy, social and emotional skills. Families can encourage learning through play by making time and space available with everyday resources in the home. Speak with your childs educators who can help parents in supporting their childs natural curiosity and exploration. The NSW Department of Education also share ideas for play-based learning in the home for babies, toddlers and preschoolers in their downloadable pdf. https://education.nsw.gov.au//docu/Play_based_learning.pdf
