25.01.2022 Helloooo Sparkly souls! Welcome to Sparkle Card Monday, your magical and mystical (but still very much grounded!) pick-a-card tarot reading that helps you find your sparkle! Before you go ahead and select your Sparkle Cards, I just want to say: oh my goodness, lovely people! What beautiful, fierce, independent, strong, abundant energy is coming through the cards today, especially if you identify as female! You are in your power ladies! If you identify as male, then don’t des...pair, this reading is still totally open and available for you to pick up and run with these magnificent forces of growth, authenticity, plenty, self-sovereignty, empowerment and cutting out what does not serve you. This week I’m using my newest tarot deck, Bonestone & Earthflesh Tarot by Avalon Cameron (illustrated by Ana Tourian). This is a wonderfully witchy deck that I backed on Kickstarter a few years ago, but due to a number of unforeseen circumstances was delayed in its release. I’m still exploring and getting to know this deck, but as I mentioned above, I’m absolutely loving the powerful energies and wisdom it’s pulling through today. 19.01.2022 Hello Sparkly Souls Welcome to Sparkle Card Monday with a twist! Today we’re using oracle cards rather than tarot cards - The Wild Unknown Animal Spirit oracle cards by Kim Kranz to be exact. Yep, tarot cards and oracle cards are different. Tarot cards follow a set structure/system, usually based upon the Rider-Waite-Smith, but occasionally also Marseille, Thoth, Minchiante or Visconti-Sforza. ... Tarot based upon the Rider-Waite-Smith structure (which most modern-day decks tend to follow) is made up of 78 cards: 22 major arcana which tend to represent bigger life events and 56 minor arcana that tend to represent every day events. The minor arcana is then made up of four suits (Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles), each numbered Ace through to Ten with four court cards (Page, Knight, Queen, King.) So, once you’ve learned the structure and meanings of one deck, you can transfer this knowledge across to any other Rider-Waite-Smith-based deck. The meanings may vary slightly (depending upon the images and the reader’s connection with the deck, certain aspects/meanings may be highlighted more or less) but generally once you’ve got the hang of one, you can read with them all. Tarot cards are also very flexible, as they are based upon archetypal energy so they can cover myriad of different topics. However, oracle decks are quite different in that they have no set structure. Oracle decks can have 30 cards or 80, and tend to be either very broad or very narrow in their focus. For these reasons, I personally find that oracle decks aren’t as flexible in their application to various topics (though some readers may disagree). However, that said, if you are prepared to use more than one oracle deck or combine with tarot within your reading, they can be excellent for clarifying details or bringing wisdom to a particular topic (e.g. relationships, creativity, finance, career, personality traits, etc). Anyhow, the oracle deck that we are using today focuses on the spiritual energies of particular animals and the wisdom that they can bring. This deck doesn’t include many Australian animals, but I believe we can still gain plenty of wisdom and sparkle from this deck. Kim Kranz has structured the deck into five elements - Air, Water, Earth, Fire and Spirit, which can be loosely related to the tarot’s four minor arcana suits (Swords, Cups, Pentacles and Wands) and the major arcana (Spirit), but it cannot be read like a tarot deck. Please note that the written messages via me are short and sweet this week, but I have included interpretations from the guidebook (by Kim Kranz) in quotation marks. I’ve just been out picking roses, and they look and smell divine. Wish I could send their gorgeous scent through to you but I can’t, so we’ll just have to make do by surrounding today’s Sparkle Card images with them. ... Or, if you have another way you like to quiet your mind and tap into your intuition, please feel free to do your own thing. I believe it is now out of print, but occasionally you can pick it up second-hand for a reasonable price. It’s not the most profound deck out there, but it’s fun. Personally I tend to use this deck when I’m looking for sim...ple answers and/or encouragement, or for clients to clarify a tarot card or two. Roberts and published by Hay House. This deck is an older version actually by both Radleigh Valentine AND Doreen Virtue. However, Doreen is now following a different spiritual path and prefers not to be associated with most of her former creations. However, the deck is still available via most large bookstore websites under Radleigh Valentine, and I don’t believe the deck has changed. It is still a good tarot deck, especially for beginners as it lists some key words/meanings on the card. For me personally, I feel it is little too sanitised as it tends to rename and brush over many of the more uncomfortable or difficult aspects of the cards (which are simply a reflection of life).
