17.01.2022 An encounter with wildlife on my adventure today. The hustle in the bush ended with the goanna up the tree If you’ve been missing the usual fun on the dance floor as I have been, try a head dance with attacking magpies it was the best I could do, without tall zippy ties on my helmet like so many other riders had displayed. They got me 3 times out of 5 swoops! That’s when I shook my head left right up and down like a true champ
16.01.2022 Fifteen minutes if you care to listen. Not one word untrue. It’s been an emotionally devastating year for myself and my colleagues in the travel industry. The industry that I fell straight into from school - 30 years on. Twenty years of ‘explore life’ crushed. Whilst we are all keeping our businesses alive, our businesses are dead. And yes we are working for free, fighting for our clients and even forced to refund money we don’t have, as we have already spent it. It was our i...ncome from already doing the work. I am truly blessed to have the most wonderful clients who I would never leave high n dry. In fact, some have forced cash on me as they want to pay me for the work I’m still doing in order to get as much of their money back that I can. Some have gifted long lunches or fine wines. I’m grateful that i have been able to secure an income by working in another industry, to support myself & my business this year. I keep paying the expenses of the business to stay alive. I’ve maintained low overheads in my travel design consultancy by working from home for 20 years and since 2012, no longer having staff costs. In turn it meant much lower income. Pittance actually. So I am not suffering half as much as my industry friends. Though, I am lightening the load and selling the roof over my head.
