23.01.2022 Meet #locallegend Barry, a volunteer in William Bay National Park. The volunteering that Barry does in William Bay National Park perfectly complements the work the Parks and Wildlife Service are trying to achieve. Over several years Barry has contributed to virtually getting rid of Typha, an invasive weed, from the park and significantly decreasing the problems with Victorian tea tree and other weeds. His commitment to weeding has encouraged many other members of the comm...unity to also get involved. Barry is a great asset to the park and to our staff and has committed more than 10 years of regular volunteering to the park; weeding fortnightly, picking up rubbish daily, organising tours and surveys and is an active member of the William Bay National Parks Association. Phew! The time Barry spends in the park means he can provide valuable information to Parks and Wildlife staff about incidents with wildlife or maintenance that need to be dealt with. thanks Barry, you’re a #locallegend To find out more about volunteering visit https://www.dbca.wa.gov.au//volunteering-with-parks-and-wi Parks and Wildlife Service, Western Australia
