22.01.2022 We are currently on Safari duty in Africa making preparations for another Explore Photography Tours adventure. Accompanied by local guides and trackers, over the last few days we’ve had amazing close up encounters with elephants, lions, cheetah, giraffe and so many other animals that this continent has to offer. The zebras have been quite a challenge. They tend to run at the slightest sound of any approach. We did however capture some amazing images this morning. Stay tuned for more details on how you can join us on our next safari photography adventure with the Explore Photography team.
20.01.2022 This is how we roll in Siem Reap. Apart from one of the days, where we travel further afield for our photo sessions, you'll be getting around Siem Reap in one of these tuk-tuks. With open sides, even the tuk-tuk rides themselves give you great opportunities to snap off some shots as you travel around. There's plenty to see, and you won't miss a thing.... If it rains, the sides come down, and you stay dry. We've got a team of awesome tuk-tuk drivers (seriously, they're wonderful), and they're available outside our base hotel to take you places even during downtime. We generally aim for 2 passengers per tuk-tuk on photo session trips, so there's no squashing in, and plenty of space. Don't miss our November tour - last few tickets remain - link below! 13.01.2022 The street photography opportunities in Siem Reap are brilliant. We'll take you to some of the hotspots in town, including French-inspired hidden alleys, and the carnival-like Pub Street (where we can try out some techniques like longer exposures to blur movement). We'll also show you some of the "real" Cambodia - including a tour through the brightly coloured and slightly manic local market (the one where the locals go, not the tourists) and a visit to a local rural vill...age. It's a very vibrant culture, and the Cambodian people are some of the most beautiful souls you will ever meet. We guarantee that you'll remember these experiences forever (even without all of the amazing photos you will have taken)! Last few spots remaining on our November 2019 tour - don't miss out - event below! Siem Reap Photography Tour - Explore Photography - Nov 2019

03.01.2022 Life imitates art at Bayon Temple. Bayon is the centrepiece of the Angkor Thom temple complex, and its many giant stone faces are a sight to behold. You can find amazing photographic compositions at every turn here, as well as a giant and highly detailed stone bas relief on the external walls. We have an experienced local Khmer guide with us on our temple visits to answer your questions and educate you on history of each.... As for the monkey, this is a Crab-Eating (or Long-Tailed) Macaque. They're very common in the temple precinct, often seen in family groups that may include a little bubba riding on its mum's shoulders. They'll interact with people, but generally leave you alone unless you approach them (for which we advise some caution). You don't want to miss this tour - check out the event link below for more information, itinerary, and tickets (LAST FEW TICKETS REMAINING). 03.01.2022 We can't wait to show you what we've got in store for 2020! Anna, Moz & Rob

Supported by our friends at Maxxum Pty Ltd, with specially designed Samyang Optics Australia zero gravity lenses (you should see how good they are for astro when you're actually in space) and Benro Australia's brand new GoPlus Space Travel Lunar Edition tripods.
01.01.2022 Check out these awesome shots from guest Neil Hickman at last Saturday night's Out West Sunset & Astro Photography Group Workshop! It was actually Neil's 70th birthday on the day (the workshop was a gift from his photographer daughter Serra from Island Paw Prints), so it was great to be able to celebrate it with him, and we're stoked he was able to grab these amazing images. Neil isn't on social media, but he emailed these shots through to us along with the lovely review belo...w. We're super impressed and can't wait to see more images from our guests. Thanks so much Neil (and Serra as well)! REVIEW by: Neil Hickman Out West Sunset and Astro Photography - Group Workshop - Sat 19th Oct 2019 I appreciated that the group was taken to just 2 specific spots where everyone could focus on photography rather than wandering around looking for "the shot. It was also good that the instructors spent most time with less experienced photographers and left those who knew their cameras get on with it. You should not expect chocolates and a song on your birthday, but I got both - Thanks Anna! Tips on focusing in the dark and getting low to bring the Milkyway down in the frame brought instant results - Thanks Moz! The guidance from one site to the next was great and the very generous offer of follow up advice any time after the workshop is extremely generous - Thanks Rob! Having 3 photographers available meant that any time you required advice someone was there to provide it. A top night out with everyone on the same page. Really Good!
