Over the years those who have respected these wilderness values have fought against multiple threats such as communication towers, helipads, jetties and pontoons, private lease accommodation, and mass tourism. Thus far the Island has been managed for its cultural and wilderness values, yet those who seek a quick buck to exploit this resource are always lurking, ready to pounce. We must stay vigilant.
