25.01.2022 HOLIDAY FUN! The Studio is not always for dancing. Today we had an absolutely delightful group of children who took part in our GET CREATIVE SESSION which included scrap paper flower making, chatterbox folding, dance games, hair accessory making, obstacle courses and singing on the microphone!... We had planned loads of other activities too but the time just flew by!! You can still join us FRIDAY for our KEEP ACTIVE session - dance fitness fun & chilled kids yoga. 24.01.2022 TERM 4 IS ALMOST HERE! With the busiest Term of the year almost upon us, here are a few quick updates. TERM 3 CONCLUDES: Saturday 26 September TERM 4 RESUMES: Monday 12 October... CURRENT STUDENTS: Your current enrolment status will roll over for Term 4, so unless you are unable to join us next term - you do not need to do anything! (Forms for enrolment updates will be provided later in the week if you need to make changes). NEW STUDENTS: Enrolments are now open for a selection of our Term 4 Non-Concert classes. 20.01.2022 'SafeWA' UPDATE: Explosive Dance & Theatre Co already maintains systems to keep suitable records for all enrolled dancers if COVID related contact tracing is required. However in line with new mandatory record keeping guidelines, if you are over 16 and attending our venue for any reason other than a class for which you are enrolled - please scan the SafeWA QR code upon entry or request a manual record to be taken. 20.01.2022 NEW CLASS ADDED! Due to popular demand we have added an additional session of (6 - 8 Yrs) URBAN MONDAYS 4pm - 4.50pm.... In light of this we have renamed our show EMBRACE 2020 - a reflection of making the most of what we can of this year of great change and hardship and celebrating with a huge dance hug that we will all make it onto the stage together!! ... 'EXP PERFORMING ARTS' is therefore a new energised identity for all our 2021 students (all ages and all abilities) which will reflect our investment in providing performance opportunities without the need to be involved in competitions. ... To kick this off, in additional to our usual full company concert there will be two additional whole studio performance opportunities know as 'Creative Collaborations'. The 'Creative Collaborations' will see our teachers take the role of Artistic Direction only with our students instead being the creators of the performance content - meaning not only will they be performing but they will completely immersed in the creative process. We love the culture that has developed among our dancers in this respect.... Our space is always open for conversation around our mental and physical health. Being open to asking others, or letting someone know you are not ok, is not dwelling on the negative, it is not a weakness - its a strength and an outlet for processing and managing the reality that our lives that are not always smooth sailing no matter how we appear to others. 02.01.2022 Farewell Miss Krystal. One of the huge positives of 2020 was our time with Miss Krystal (Krystal Meakins). Krystal joined our teaching team somewhat unexpectedly (and after much quizzing over whether she was happy to travel from Bullsbrook to Forrestdale ).... Along the way Krystal brought to our studio so much consistent and kind energy and a whole lot of knowledge and talent, fitting in perfectly with our team and the existing Acro direction led by Fran. Over our initial Covid shut-down Krystal offered so much support literally spending day and night assisting Fran and Tam and she became (and always will be) an adopted daughter/sister in the Brereton fam... #evencleanswindowsanddrinksscotch To her students Krystal provided a huge sense of confidence and guidance. #soloved And now we are so proud that you are off to follow your dreams to study Circus in Melbourne!!!! In fact, all tickets for our School Holiday activities will contribute to the funding of Indigenous Scholarships (How cool is that). There were significant updates to the rehearsal schedule detailed in this document due to being unable to host our original full company rehearsals with the remaining covid venue number restrictions. This was provided by email and hard copy.... (And ill make it available to download off the website tonight). DRESS REHEARSAL WEEK: Due to venue restrictions our full company dress rehearsals were not possible. Dress Rehearsal has now been split over the week in your usual class time. Dress Rehearsal Week Runs Sat 28 Nov - Thurs 3 Dec. Simply attend your usual class time and bring all 'extras'. We have your main costume items at the studio. SUNDAY 29 NOV: Only performers the in the pictured schedule (with purple star) are required, or if you have received a direct text message. SUNDAY 6 DEC: Only production team and backstage crews are required for production meeting.

We have lifted the password a few hours early for 2021 enrolments which means whether you are a student of 2020 or brand new you can go ahead and register for your classes. HOW TO ENROL: Visit: www.explosivedance.com.au and review all 2020 Information pages (its all there from fees, to T&Cs and timetables).... Register: For an account on our new 'Communication Portal' and select your classes. A deposit of 25% if required to confirm your enrolment, however the remainder of your fees are not due until the commencement of the term. And if enrolling online isn't your thing, we will have some open studio time scheduled late January for you to come and see us in person and we can help you through the process.
