22.01.2022 When you hire an IT guy who doesn’t have a clue.... PS.... the pins are meant to be in the slot, not out... and yes... this is an actual laptop I’m repairing....

19.01.2022 Facebook is reminding me about how many have visited and how I should post something.... but I wonder what’s interesting to other. New tech news? Funny IT stories, special prices, services I offer or new released products... or something else?

17.01.2022 Well not sure why I thought this was a good idea... only half way through my collection and I’m out of room

15.01.2022 Microsoft with Windows 10 has the ability to stop a piece of software from working, for me, it was a program called "theRenamer" that i use extensively. The programmer is AWOL and it wasn't getting fixed. There are a few alternatives but none quite as good. So i had to use VirtualBox (Microsofts own Hyper-V was terribly slow and didn't like sharing), with VirtualBox, i was easily able to have a Windows 7 that run inside a window on Windows 10, and the Windows 7 had complete access outside of and into the rest of my Home network to do the job that i wanted it to. Its overkill to run ONE program (but once setup, i can do other tasks that only work in Windows 7), but that's the path i feel we are heading down, give it a few more versions of Windows and i believe we will have a closed ecosystem like our phones.

14.01.2022 Saw a post recently saying to make sure you take your recycling of Electronics to Bunnings. DON'T! At this time, that recycling is just going straight to the end of the line and not passing go, completely working and usable items are trashed, not everyone can afford a new computer and often items can be repaired cause a simple $20 part busted, hard drives are not wiped etc. When you bring an item to me, i will investigate it, if repairable, i will repair it, or i will keep good parts if a repair is not feasible. Then, i will recycle everything left over (and Hard drives will be destroyed so noone can get that info). Bunnings has a policy and everything gets chucked.

13.01.2022 So they are going to claim 7gb of your space to make sure you don't run out of space, seems logical.

12.01.2022 Never been a big fan of LG, but wow, i'd love one of these..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iylZD9RaYek

11.01.2022 Due to recent events, the cost of consultation has increased. It will now cost you 10 rolls of toilet paper, an increase of 2 rolls for a standard consultation. Thank you for your understanding

08.01.2022 Found a computer without an SSD, here's a different fresh reminder :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ArCdprdUMU

08.01.2022 If like me you have no Internet in the southern suburbs - There's a 3pm update - another 12 hours. https://advisories.internode.on.net/item/17433/

06.01.2022 This is my 1 down, 12 to go at 6:30pm Friday night. Got my whole weekend of work laid out in front of me... don’t work too hard folks. P.S. If you don’t like Windows 10, you’ll hate windows 10 S

05.01.2022 That’s a lot of effort to upgrade from 4gb to 8gb... HP decided to not have an easy access trapdoor underneath and forced a complete disassemble and the memory slots was still on the underside.... about 40 mins work that would be 2 minutes if it had the trapdoor

03.01.2022 Alot of these are bad, but NCIS - WOW! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZQz9tkEHIg
