22.01.2022 Just a heads up to everyone heading into troupes weekend at Shore. Unfortunately the onsite parking is no longer available to us as external hirers, so competitors and their families will need to either find street parking or park in a nearby parking station. There are a number of Secure parking & Wilson Parking stations in the area and are easy to google.

We have reopened the booking window for any dancers who missed registering earlier this year. Those already registered will automatically be included. Our event will be run under a Covid Safe plan, and will have restricted numbers for competitors & spectators that will be strictly adhered to. More details are available ...on our website. 21.01.2022 Hello Extreme Dancers!!! We hope you are all excited to be back at dance! We have been receiving lots of emails from teachers & dancers regarding if our comp will run this year. We feel extremely supported that the dance community is so eager to see our comps up and running soon, however we cannot make any firm plans or promises moving forward until the government eases restrictions on events, which is why we have not made any announcements as yet.... We are doing everything we can to be ready in the event they lift the restrictions before the year is out. We have pencilled in some TENTATIVE dates for solos in the first week of the Sept/Oct school holidays (solos, duo/trio/quartets, championships) Sept 26 through to Oct 4. As these are just tentative dates, and will be completely dependent on the easing of restrictions, we do not have a schedule of which days events & age groups will run. We are hopeful there will be an opportunity to run troupes in term 4- again dependent on the easing of restrictions. We do not have any confirmed dates yet for this, as venues are also still waiting for the government to announce decisions. Please bear with us as we navigate through this un-chartered territory. There is nothing we would love more than for our comp to run, and will be doing everything we can to provide a comp for our dancers as soon as we are given the green light to do so. We realise that everyone is busy and that confirming dates asap is a necessary part of organisation for teachers & studio owners. We will let you all know the moment we can! If we are allowed to run, we will reopen entries to our comps for anyone who had not already entered earlier this year. If we cannot run at all this year, we will refund those who have already entered. If we cannot run troupes this year, we have decided to adjust our age groups for 2021 so that the studios who have worked so tirelessly on their 2020 routines, bought costumes, etc will have the opportunity to showcase their work in 2021. We will adjust our age groups to 9/u, 11/u, 13/u, 15/u, 17/u & Open age. The age divisions do not affect soloists as they always compete the year of their birth. We will be in touch!! We have received lots of positive feedback and felt the process was really smooth & easy. Our media team has noticed that a large majority of our competitors have only viewed the files, and not downloaded them.... If you would like to keep this footage, you will need to download by August 31, 2019, as after this date the footage will be archived and no longer accessible. Please check you are entered correctly, and if there are any issues, please let our office no by NO LATER THAN FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 11 5PM. Our program timing is crucial due to our Covid Safety Plan & Time Management. After this date, our final program will be confirmed. Please note, that some age groups needed to be combined due to number of persons in and out of our venue, and the duo/trio/quartet sections, tap & song & dance sections & championships have been included in dates Sept 26-Oct 1 due to number of entrants registered. 06.01.2022 The first draft of our 2019 Program is now available on our website- www.extremedancecomp.com.au As we have had a record number of entries this year, we have had to move a few events from the proposed dates. Our apologies- we are running as tight a schedule as possible, but don't want to run too late for the kids. We have taken into account other local eisteddfods as much as possible, but have not been able to work around the many individual/personal requests we have received.... There were a large number of entrants who had entered themselves in the incorrect age category- all of these have been corrected by our team. For solos, duo/trio/quartets, the age is determined by the age of the competitor on Dec 31, 2019. In the case of duo/trio/quartet, the age of the eldest competitor. 8/u Born 2011/2012 9/u Born 2010 10/u Born 2009 11/u Born 2008 12/u Born 2007 13/u Born 2006 14/u Born 2005 15/u Born 2004 Open Born 2003 or earlier The reason for changing our age cut off for these divisions was due to the ongoing clashes we are having with the Sydney Eisteddfod. This is their age cut off, and we have a better chance of avoiding clashes if we can avoid scheduling the same age groups on the same days. Troupes cut off remains May 1, 2019 to coincide with the Northern Beaches Eisteddfod ages as a large amount of studios compete in both our comps. In some of our duo/trio/quartet sections only one name has been submitted on the entry- could you please urgently contact us with the name/s of the fellow competitors. Please contact our team by Monday May 13 at the absolute latest if there is an error in the program regarding your entry that needs to be amended.These errors may include- -the entrant being in the wrong age group -being entered in restricted/open in error -a missing entrant from the program Please do not request us to move sections, dates, times!!!! Moving one section means redoing the timing for the entire 175 sections!! For any issues, please contact us [email protected] We will post the final program on our website after any issues are rectified on Wednesday May 15, however all timings for sections will be as set in this draft- the only changes may be minor amendments. 05.01.2022 Extreme 2021 We were so disappointed to not be able to hold our troupes days this year, but have our fingers crossed to be able to proceed with our comps in 2021 (dependent on government & venue restrictions moving forward). It was awesome to see our soloists in October- the standard & energy was incredible, and we were proud to have achieved a Covid Safe event :)... We have decided to adjust our troupe age groups for 2021 so any studios who would like to enter their 2020 routines will have the opportunity to do so. Age divisions for troupes will be as follows.... 9/u 11/u 13/u 15/u 17/u Open Age We will also be adding a Broadway Jazz troupes division! We will have more info to give you later in the year (re entries & confirmed venues), but we have some dates for you to pop in your diaries!! 05.01.2022 Hi all, since the release of our final program, our admin team have noticed a scheduling error on Sunday June 10. Section 39- 15/u Song & Dance Solo should commence at 5.20pm (not 4.20pm as stated) and Section 40- 13/o Tap Solo should commence at 5.30pm (not 4.30pm as stated). Apologies for any inconvenience caused. These changes have now been updated on our online program.
04.01.2022 Extreme Dance COVID-19 Update- March 25 Hello Studio Owners, Teachers, Parents & Dancers, We hope everyone is keeping safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, and all the dancers are finding a way to keep stretching & practicing from home! We can see many studios doing an awesome job with online classes to keep the kids dancing - well done to everyone for making the most of a difficult situation. Our heart goes out to all the studio owners.... We are disappointed to announce that Extreme Dance will not be able to proceed as planned in May/June 2020, for either solos or troupes. We are hoping to reschedule our event for the later part of the year if the government allows events to proceed, but realise our event might not be able to take place at all in 2020. As the government are not able to predict a timeline at this early stage, and our venues not being in the position to offer alternative dates yet, we are unable to give any indication of when this may be. We do hope you will stick this out with us, but understand at this difficult financial time it may be your choice to withdraw from our comp & obtain a refund. We realise how disappointed hundreds of dancers are to be having all their events cancelled, so are holding out hope we may be able to run something for them this year. If we do not end up running at all, a full refund will be given to all competitors, or the option to transfer entry to our 2021 competition. To obtain a refund from us, please email us the following details for ease of the refunding process for us on a potentially large scale... Email to [email protected] 1. 04.01.2022 Our 2018 Extreme Team would like to send out a HUGE thank-you to all our competitors, teachers & studio owners for another amazing year of Extreme Dance!! The standard at the comp this year was beyond incredible, and the positive vibe both in the audience & backstage made for lots of happy dancers :) Congratulations to every performer- we love being able to give you the opportunity to dance on stage and receive feedback from our lovely adjudicators. We hope you had a great ex...perience. Thank-you for your continued support of Extreme Dance. Our team are looking forward to planning our 2019 event, and as always, aiming to improve our event operations in this ever growing industry of dance! 03.01.2022 The final Extreme 2020 Program is now live on our website www.extremedancecomp.com.au. Please take note of some substantial amendments to the first draft, mostly due to entrants being entered in incorrect divisions that needed to be rectified. This includes section numbers and start times having changed for some sections. A reminder that if you have placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd before in a recognised eisteddfod (excluding 2020 online events) you should be competing in our Open divi...sion- NOT restricted. Some divisions have been combined due to numbers. Please read our Covid Safety Guidelines carefully before attending our comp that are included in our program. Unless there was an error by our team, there will be no further amendments to the program. There will be absolutely no more late entries being accepted at this late stage, with our comp only being 12 days away and our days being at a Covid Safe capacity. We also cannot give any refunds at this late stage if you decide to withdraw. We offered refunds due to Covid, change of original dates and change of mind from April right up until Sept 4. Our finalised program has been scheduled and budgeted for the final number of registered competitors when entries closed. We are looking forward to seeing all the kids dancing up on stage at last!
