25.01.2022 Hi everyone, Have you seen this years new fashion trend ? Some of you will remember these from the 70s. Wide leg pants! They not only look cool, they are cool to wear.... No hot sticky fabric clinging to your legs on those hot summer days or nights. Whether you like them long, 7/8ths, mid length or as shorts they look good and feel great. Cotton with an elastic waist for casual wear, beach, barbecue or just hanging with friends. Or high waisted, mid waisted or low slung on the hips in a soft floaty fabric for a glamorous evening look. Prints or in plain fabric the choice is endless. Come in and try some on. We can also make you some in your favourite piece of fabric for that one off look. Hope to see you soon. Lynne. 16.01.2022 Hi everyone. Well I have been open for nearly 4 months now and am very pleased to say things are moving along very nicely with a lot of my former customers finding me again and most of my new customers becoming repeat regular clients. As some of you will know my beautiful daughter is currently battling triple negative, invasive, aggressive breast cancer. She is scheduled to have a double mastectomy next week, thus my reason for this post . I shall be closed from Tuesday 26 t...h June for up to 4 weeks while I travel back to New Zealand to help her convalesce and to also care for my 3 youngest grandchildren while their mother recovers from her extensive surgery. I am very proud of how strong and resilient my girl has been while battling this insidious disease, and we are keeping our fingers crossed for a good outcome. It has been a very trying time for all concerned especially when it turned out my girl was highly allergic to the chemotherapy drugs and could not continue with this line of attack against the cancer. I know you all wish her well and I thank you for your understanding and patience during this time. I will post when I know the exact date that I shall return to the shop and look forward to seeing and serving you all on my return. Be kind to one another and tell those you love how you feel often. One never knows what could be around the corner and cancer is indiscriminate. It can hit us all at anytime. See you all as soon as I get back. Kind regards. Lynne See more

14.01.2022 I have to say a huge thank you to Karen Carpenter for doing such a great job running the shop for me over the last couple of weeks. She did a fantastic job on her own. Without her help I could not have traveled back to New Zealand to help and support my beautiful daughter , Cheree, who is currently going thru 6 months of chemo in her fight against invasive aggressive breast cancer. Not only did I get to spend time with my girl, I also got to spend time with 3 of my youngest grandchildren who were on holidays from preschool and primary school. Thank you Karen you are amazing

05.01.2022 After chemotherapy treatment, it's true that it takes years to feel alive... with the side effects of the chemotherapy and radiation, you will never be back to 100% because of the weakened immune system. Sure, in the most difficult moments of life you realize who your real friends are or the people who really appreciate you. Unfortunately, like most friendships, FB friends will leave you in the middle of a story. They'll publish an "enjoyed" for the story, but unfortunately t...hey don't really read your message when they see it's long. More than half may have stopped reading. Some may have gone to the next post on your news feed. I have decided to publish this message in support of the families of friends and relatives who have fought this terrible disease until the end... Now, I focus on those who take the time to read this message until the end... a little test, if you like, just to see who reads, and who shares it without reading. If you've already read everything, choose "like" so I can thank you on your profile. Cancer is a very invasive and destructive enemy of our bodies. After the end of the treatment, the body remains devastated. Recovery from the damage caused by the treatment of the disease is a very long process. Please, in honor of a family member or a friend who died of cancer, or still fighting cancer, copy and paste this as a post on your FB. How many times have we heard others say: "if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me, I'll be there to help you". so i bet most people who saw this post (maybe even Reading until the end) will publish, to show your support to the family / friend who can wrestle. Copy and paste - do not share this message. I'd like to know who I can count on to take a minute of your day and really read this. When you finish this, you write "done" in the comments.

02.01.2022 Hi everyone, I hope your all having a great week. Firstly I'd like to thank all who have liked and shared my page. And to welcome new friends. Well what a week it's been so far. The start of the week started with some reassuring news from my daughter Cheree, who as some of you will know is currently fighting breast cancer. She is now 8 weeks post double mastectomy surgery and healing remarkably well. Apart from an infection in her left side, which has been now delt with she h...as bounced back extremely well. Even returning back to work on light duties. But, the week before last we had a lot of apprehension as she was feeling tired unwell and very achy in her lower back and pelvic region. So off to the GP where blood test showed her liver function to be down. Of course all sorts of things go thru your mind. Has the cancer metastasised. ETC. But a further blood test has showen an improvement in the liver and after consultation with her surgeon was reassured that all was fine and the aches and pain etc are probably caused by starting early menopause due to the chemo basically frying her overies. So relief all round.. Now to some workroom gossip. I had a lovely lady come in this week with a pair of wide leg pants that her daughter had had made at another dressmakers. She asked if I could fix a problems of what appeared to be bunching at the crutch due to the way the lining had been attached. Well you can imagine my surprise when I started to deconstruct the pants, and on removing the lining, which was in fact about 3 sizes larger than the outer I was extremely surprised to find that the front of the pants did not have any crutch shaping. The centre front seam went straight down to the inner leg seam and the back crutch had only minor crutch shaping. No wonder the pants didn't sit right. Needless to say I was able to rectify this problem by putting a small insert of fabric on both front and back to create the much needed crutch seam and down sized the lining to fit properly, the pants now sit as they should. Even after 45 years in the rag trade it still amazes me as to how some people can call themselves dressmakers, let alone charge poor unsuspecting clients to make such rubbish. To my eye it looked as though this sewer found that she had miscalculated where to place her pattern on the fabric and when it did not fit she simply omitted the crutch. Oh my gosh. Has anyone else had an experience along these lines? Suffice to say I stand by my slogan, " at The Witches Wardrobe we make clothing magic" There are not many things that can't be saved or changed to give you the best look and fit. I hope you have enjoyed reading my little tale and I look forward to seeing you in the shop with your alterations or dressmaking. Look good and feel confident . See more
