It will give you the warm and fuzzies;) I will be downloading it to the salon iPad and playing it to our young curlies while they are getting their hair cut! Such an awesome animation for the curly girl journey and so wonderful to spread this message while theyre young. ... I sure wish I had it shown to me when I was a kid. Wouldve saved me all those years of burning myself and my hair and empowered me to show my true identity without the straightening irons! I was also bullied at school over my hair and it took me up until 8years ago to start actually embracing my curl and allowing my South African heritage to shine through. Its a long journey but totally worth it to unveil the power of the curl!

17.01.2022 Soulful chanteuse Deanna recently swung by our curly caravan for a bit of mane maintenance. An avid embracer of her curls, Deanna wanted a cut to enhance her curls and frame her face, and wanted to avoid the dreaded 'triangle' look that so many curly haired folk speak of experiencing in the past! She particularly wanted to showcase those curls around her hairline. @cheries_chair expertly snipped and zhuzed Deanna's curls into a fabulously flattering pixie cut, while still keeping the length at the front- and not a triangle in sight!

16.01.2022 Want to know my curly hair story @eyeamhair ? Every curly haired person has one. A lot of the time they are filled with trauma and years of trying to fight what you naturally have. Heres a snippet of mine from an article published by @thepin__ ... My grandma gave me a hot comb, which she got in South Africa, that she had used growing up. We would heat it on the open flame of a stove till it was smoking, then we would run it through my hair with the metal teeth. 16.01.2022 Ive got some exciting news to share with you all!!!! We are opening another caravan salon especially for curly hair folk! Yep, this bad boy beast of a thing will be undergoing some major retrofitting to be converted into another luxurious salon just for curls and parking it alongside our existing caravan Macquarie Point Development Corporation Red Square Hobart & The Goods Shed and should be up and running by summer!... There is a global movement happening and people are learning to understand and embrace their natural hair texture. It is something that is more than just an aesthetically beautiful thing to do, its about embracing who you naturally are. We have such a passion to guide you on that journey at Eye Am Hair, that each new curly client gets a thorough education in how to achieve for when they are outside of the salon as well. Initially we purchased it just before covid with plans to live in it as a tiny house, enter covid, commercial space restrictions & a cult following of curly haired people and it became very apparent we needed to expand to specifically cater for our 70% curly haired clientele. We will be growing our team and training them in The Way of the Curl program and a whole line of curl girl method friendly products Clever Curl will be stocked. Colours will be organic with Oway and gentle for curls. If you are of the straight haired family, dont worry our existing caravan, Nancy will still be here to look after you and your follicles with open arms. 14.01.2022 As you may be aware our beautiful, bubbly & beloved Rebecca Trollip of Eye Am Hair has been battling with Breast cancer since the beginning of Covid-19 and has undergone a mastectomy, chemo and starting this week, radiation therapy. Her friends have done an incredible job of raising money for all of her treatment so far. Im now putting the call out to anyone who would like to contribute for accommodation close to the hospital for Bek and her family for the last and potential...ly hardest 3 weeks of radiation therapy so she doesnt have to drive alone and on a 2hr round trip every day for her appointments. 14.01.2022 Theres a time for crying, a time for laughing and a time for reuniting. That time is now @eyeamhair The world has changed dramatically since we were all last together and so have we.... One thing is certain, that everything is temporary and hard times wont last forever, but they are easier when shared. Good on you @tibaltension for braving the bold bald beauty that our humble heroine @beccabombshell has had to endure from chemo treatment. She may be bald but her inner radiance has kept us all more optimistic about our own lives throughout the challenging times of 2020. Lets not forget the man who can, @marshalldawg who is now sporting some pretty pink bits in solidarity. A true champ! Things arent right on this earth right now but within our own community we can make them great. We want to voice that we are in full support of the black lives matter movement and are looking at more ways to be allies to our local indigenous community. We were so honoured to attend the peaceful and heartfelt protest @nayriniara put on last weekend and understand the learning and change will be a long process but were so glad it has begun. Resilient, compassionate, a friend, a mum, a loving partner, BOSS Hairdresser, gentle, an absolute legend of... a human! - this is what comes to mind right now. But I find it difficult to put words to someone who is just all round fucking awesome person. Rebecca Trollip is currently going through breast cancer treatment all during Covid times and with 3 kids under the age of 4. From watching from afar in Melbourne, shes doing this with Grace and strength. Expenses are adding up for their family. 05.01.2022 At the end of this month Im going to be cutting hair for a cause on local lad Mathew Wesley who is raising money for an indigenous community in NT by letting me at his luscious long locks with the scissors. Id youd like to dig deep and help a brother out by donating, please read on... Mathew-... The cause that Im going for is an organization called Anangu Uwankaraku Punu Aboriginal Corporation, or simply Maruku Arts. They are a non-profit 100% indigenous owner arts enterprise which encompass over 20 communities and around 800 artists and of course this also helps their Families. Id been working for Maruku, which is based out of Mutitjulu, which is the community near Uluru, for over a year when the whole Covid thing went down and they shut the community down, and rightfully so. But with no visitors and no one buying art, it made life pretty hard for Maruku to survive. So this is my way of trying to give back to the community and help raise them a little money. 03.01.2022 We @eyeamhair want to say a big thank you to everyone for showing up and braving the solstice together. Your presence today meant more than words. A special thanks to our colleges @marshalldawg and @creationofdorris from for coming up with this idea in support of Bek and being such an incredible team. ... We united and faced our nakedness uncomfortably in the cold winter weather but more importantly as a symbol of solidarity to Bek. Lets give a round of applause for her courage and strength and for her attitude to life while being treated for cancer. In the water we all let go off anything that no longer served us and left it there on this short day. We were mindful of social distancing but didnt let it get in the way of a good time either. We welcomed in a good health and happiness in our lives and embraced the waves of change. We emerged more resilient than before and felt like warriors coming out of battle bonded together.
