23.01.2022 I'd like to thank my optometrists, Thomas Bolton, Margaret Graham, Cana Xu and all of my staff who worked through the Covid 19 period, supplying continuous face to face emergency services to our patients and telehealth to help allay patients vision concerns when they didn't feel comfortable to come in and see us. We are celebrating 65 years of continuous optometry service to our community and 33 years of me being part of that service. We are proud that we were able to stay op...en over this time. We have had to adapt over the last couple of months with temporary closure of our Stockland practice but we are now up and fully operational at our Wharf St, Stockland and Tea Gardens practices. We have closed our Tuncurry practice not because of Covid 19 but in anticipation of an exciting new super practice we intend to build over the next 12-18 months. Look out for news on this in the future. Thanks to all the locals for supporting the small local businesses over this time. Our motto is "Locals Caring For Locals" and we thank you all for supporting us and all the other small businesses in our town that help build such a great community. www.rolfeoptometrists.com.au
22.01.2022 Do you have enough contact lenses to get you through the next few months. We don't think there will be a supply problem with contact lenses but we suggest that you get a few extra lenses just in case. We are offering a 20% discount on lenses if you buy a 6 month supply and these can be delivered to your door at no extra charge. If you wear Total 1 or Precision 1 spherical daily disposable better news still, Alcon are offering a $90 cash back to get you through these tough times. If you wear a Coopervision lens they are currently offering a $50 cash back at this time. Be prepared, Contact your local Eyecare Plus office to order today. http://www.rolfeoptometrists.com.au/contact-us/
21.01.2022 Help small local businesses by choosing them first when thinking about buying something or using a service. They are the ones that support local clubs and charities, keep their profits in the community and pay taxes in Australia. we need them now more than ever. #localscaringforlocals #GLEF

14.01.2022 Hi John. Just looked at my competitors. Specsavers owned by billionaire husband and wife living in the tax haven of the Guernsey islands paid less than 1% of their turnover in tax and Luxottica (think OPSM, laubman and Pank, budget specs and Sunglass hut)owned by the second richest man in Italy paid just over1% . Now more than ever we need to spend our money and stimulus package on small local Australian businesses. We don't want our stimulus going overseas.

10.01.2022 Important Message for Medibank Private Members You may have recently received an ill worded letter from Medibank Private that gave the impression that Eyecare Plus were no longer providers to Medibank Private. This is NOT the case. You can still receive your full rebate and claim it in our office when you visit us. The open letter from Optometry Australia confirms this.... We are now able to offer you even better benefits now we are not tied to Medibank Privates Members Choice Program. Our offers include: 1. Buy a pair of glasses from our fashion ranges and get 50% off a second pair, (frame and lenses). 2. A range of No Gap glasses. 3. Buy one pair of glasses and get a FREE single vision buddy pair. 4. Receive an automatic 15% off all disposable contact lenses or get 30% off if buying a 12 month supply or signing up to Contact Lens Express. See our deals here: https://www.rolfeoptometrists.com.au/offers/ After this latest letter, patients have been unhappy with health funds trying to direct their members to large overseas corporations. They are asking which Health Funds support the small local optometrist they have been seeing for years. Although we don't like to recommend who are the best health funds a list of Health funds that support small local optometrists through the Q Optical network can be found here: https://qopticalnetwork.com.au/

05.01.2022 TO ALL OUR PATIENTS: We’ve always considered our practice to be neat and clean. In fact we pride ourselves on it. A lot of the sanitizing we do happens behind the scenes, and before and after each consultation. Due to current health concerns please don't be surprised to see more of this cleaning occurring whilst you are visiting us. WHAT CAN YOU DO?... Besides the recommendation of regular hand washing, we are asking if you have a fever or flu-like symptoms, or recent international travel, please let us know and postpone your appointment a few weeks. We will still be here to look after you then, and the patients who visit us in the interim, as well as our staff, will appreciate your thoughtfulness. We are asking patients to wash their hands on site with the optometrist prior to being seen and also before and after handling spectacle frames. We have removed magazines and children's toys from waiting room areas and are leaving our front door open to save patients from having to touch door handles. We are also trying to see just one patient at a time to reduce the risk of cross contamination. We believe that our optometry practice will be one of the safest places to visit over this time if we all take some simple extra care. Thankyou for your support over this time.
05.01.2022 We wear and recommend Hoya polarised prescription sunglass lenses. Why? Because once you’ve worn them, you’ll never want to wear anything else. The polarisation blocks glare, even on the brightest days. Truer colours are revealed. Details are precise. And they provide 100% UV protection. Ask your eyecare professional for Hoya polarised prescription lenses today. To Book an appointment https://www.rolfeoptometrists.com.au/contact-us/bookappt/

03.01.2022 Buying kids' eyewear can be daunting, especially if you're a first time buyer! Here are our top tips for buying kids' eyewear: 1. When choosing the lenses, you should consider an impact-resistant lens with a scratch resistant coating to increase the longevity of the glasses. You can also get lenses with UV protection to protect your child's eyes from harmful UV rays.... 2. Consider a second pair, especially if your child is dependent on them! We offer 50% OFF a second pair 3. When choosing a frame, select frames that have a modern, attractive style as some children may be self-conscious wearing glasses for the first time. There's still time to book in for a back to school eye examination! Book an appointment online at Eyecare Plus https://www.rolfeoptometrists.com.au/contact-us/bookappt
