18.01.2022 In the current COVID-19 pandemic, with home isolation and e-learning, kids are spending more time on screens and digital devices than ever before. Many parents have been asking us about blue light-blocking lenses for their children. Do they really help?... There is no evidence that blue light from screens is linked to myopia progression. There’s also insufficient amount and intensity of blue light emitted to cause long-term eye damage. However, excessive blue light can affect circadian rhythm and sleep. So indirectly, lenses that provide blue light protection from screens may reduce fatigue and tiredness. We believe blue light-blocking glasses are more beneficial if a prescription is added to help with near focusing, thereby reducing the sustained effort the eyes require to focus on screens and devices. Excess near work is associated with myopia. A comprehensive eye test and binocular vision assessment can determine if prescription computer glasses can help your child focus better and more comfortably. #bluelight #blueblock #hoya #bluecontrol #myopia #glasses #covid19 #children #eyehealth #vision #optometrist #melbourne #eyecareconcepts

13.01.2022 These kids came for their eye test today with their own eye chart prepared! Take advantage of the extended school holidays to bring your child for their eye examination in a safe, clean environment. Home learning and increased screen time can be harmful for their young growing eyes, increasing the risks of myopia (short-sightedness) development and progression.... Early diagnosis and proper intervention is key to maintaining good vision. #children #optometrist #melbourne #kids #eyetest #eyehealth #myopia #myopiacontrol #myopiamanagement #eyecareconcepts
